Patrick Fischler (Club Valis bouncer- B.C.) - other roles

Post by francis »

I watched an episode of the third season of Veronica Mars lately and just realized where I knew the human resources manager of Hearst College from. He was played by Patrick Fischler who played the bouncer in B.C., the one who guarded the VIP area.
He was also in Lost, Pushing Daisies, Cold Case and CSI, but I haven’t seen that episodes.

Weird coincidence, he worked in two shows with Jason Dohring in them, but had no scenes with him in either one.
I kinda liked his portrayal of the wormy employee who would sell Lola to the police.

Joel Silver has worked with Rob Thomas (creator of VM) often. Many times they have actors or actresses that they remember from bit parts. David Blue (Logan) also had a very small part in VM. He was a student that ran out into the hallway of the dorms when there was some commotion. He might even have had a line, asking Parker if she was okay.

Here's another sighting of Mr. Fischler. I was watching Speed the other day, and lo and behold, here's the doorman from Club Valis, trapped in an elevator.

He's been busy! He was also in Lie To Me last week, playing a porn impresario:

Wow, his looks are a two-edged sword. He probably gets a lot of work, but he must have to play sleazeballs a lot.

He did play a good guy on Burn Notice last season (I think it was last season).

He has a very familiar face, hasn't he!

Okay, I just spotted him in a "Bones" ep, about a body discovered in a high school time capsule. Interestingly, in the same scene, there was another Veronica Mars alum: the guy who played the criminology prof in season 3.

And...here he is again. Criminal Minds, playing, you guessed it, a low-level slime-ball.

Bless his heart, I'm sure he's probably a perfectly nice guy in RL!

Okay, I'm getting way better at spotting this guy than I can explain. I was watching a trailer for a new video game, "L.A. Noire," and there was an animated character in the trailer who looked rather like Mr. Fischler.

Sure enough, I checked IMDB, and he's done voice work for the game. I think it must be his usual low-level scumbag flunky sort of part.

(One of these days, he's going to land a part as a heroic policeman who is a solid family sort of guy, and we won't recognize him!)

I saw a commercial for "One for the Money," the new Stephanie Plum movie, on TV last night. I haven't read any of the books, so I wasn't really paying attention. That changed when I saw the bouncer from BC! According to IMDb, Patrick Fischler is playing Vinnie Plum.
