I love this bit. I think this is how Mick makes us all feel. Mick is our vampire and he inspires us all.

I don't know what Coco means by "chuffed" but it must be a good thing, as this little drabble is a great thing...

coco, sweetie, I was going to PM you but then I saw you in my office and figured you'd found this already. I'm delighted you liked it - your vid was so beautiful and it just set this train of thought off and running.

Wonderful, redwinter. I love the ambivalence Beth recognizes in Mick. He never is only happy, never only sad. And you capture their budding relationship in such a tender and beautiful way. Just great.

This is perfectly beautiful. Yes, exactly--they see the dark and the promise. The sadness and the violence and the tenderness. The passion and the fear. It's part of them, individually and as a couple. And that's what makes them perfect for each other.

This made me cry sad and happy tears for them. My beautiful Beth and Mick...

I don't know why, but I thought of their first time while reading.

Really, they do belong to each other! They live through each other! Mick has been living for her for over 23 years, because she simply made him want to live. Beth is alive because Mick lived this long. I can't see any other two people whose fates are more intersected and whose very existence is so much dependent on the existence of the other! They simply won't survive without each other!
