I don't own any recognizable characters no copyright infringement intended.

Josef Kostan was not used to receiving gifts. He bought gifts constantly. There were freshies, quasi-girlfriends, and business associates. There was always a reason to go shopping. Then there were gifts that no one knew about it. Money exchanged to protect those he cared about to keep them safe.

The few that did truly care for him could never buy him anything he didn’t already have or couldn’t buy himself.

He never thought he would receive such a treasured and unexpected gift from Beth of all people.

As perceptive as she is he doubted that Beth truly knew what it meant to give him a part of Sarah.

Her thoughts words and dreams all written in her delicate young handwriting.

Sarah left this behind and Beth delivered it to him.

He did know that Sarah loved him. But he never really thought that he would hear Sarah again.

As long as he has her diary, maybe she really will say the words aloud one day.

You made me cry, cassy. Very beautiful. Yes, that diary will let Sarah speak to Josef when speech has failed her. :comfort:

Oh, Cassy... it's such a wonderful use of the challenge, and so absolutely spot-on in terms of Josef's reaction. And it made me cry... :hankie:

Beautifully Cassy! So much the way I expect he received the diary too- as a gift from Sarah, as much as Beth.

:ghug: I don't mean to make so many people cry. I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I heard the prompt this came to me picturing the look on Josef's face when Beth handed it to him.

I've been impressed at how many unique and fabulous ideas came up in two hours.
