Shucks, thanks so much, Lynnrx! Glad you enjoyed Aggie's & my little story. Yes, I did know that sunscreen was invented for soldiers in Pacific and that it was red & unpleasant stuff (I had looked up how long sunscreen had been around when writing this story to make sure that Mick could have used it as a human), but I didn't know the little Coppertone tidbit. Interesting!

And people think that fanfic is just fluff... not true, it's a real learning experience, too!

Are you two going to work together again? I hope so!

True enough!

We are planning to work together again, and had actually been in contact about doing another one, but then I got busy. I have too many stories on the go at the moment and not much time to write. :(

One day, though...

Julie and Aggie

Just came by for a reread and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely story again! You have the characterizations so spot-on. The snark is perfection.

Is this going to be another monk story?

Love it!

Thank you so much for re-reading and re-commenting, Jen! Glad you still enjoyed. We had so much fun coming up with this.

No idea what the next story would be about...we hadn't really gotten that far before I got too busy again.

Julie, what an absolute treat to read this again.
I nodded sagely at the profound parts, and laughed out loud at the funny ones.
A 'classic' Moonlight fic!

Absolutely fantastic, Moll. I love the banter between the friends. Your Josef snark is spot-on. :clapping:

Can't go wrong with a Josef centric fic!
“Yeah, what can I say—I’m a complex character who’s greatly underrated.”

This is delightful on the third reading. as well! Champaign Challenges lead me here for a welcome reread.

What I meant on the last post was supposed to be a quote from when Mick asked Josef, 'Is this going to be another monk story' heralding back to when Josef told the story about the two Buddist monks. The point of the story was that Mick needed to stop carrying Coraline around inside him.

Fabulous!

Thank you!

Ladies, this was really great. I loved the seamless blend of humor and poignancy in this story. The butterfly image is a perfect answer to Mick's desire to remain human (although he came to his own conclusion that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be in FTP). Josef taking the chance to bring Sarah "home" with him was such a huge decision for him and I hope that he was rewarded by that small smile from her -- at Mick's expense, of course!!

And I totally agree with Bank1115 and francis that this was seriously the laugh out loud line from Josef:
NocturneInCMoll wrote:“Easy, Mick…I was just kidding!” Josef said breezily as he quickly massaged Mick’s shoulders with more aloe vera. “You, my friend, have got to learn to laugh at yourself. It’s easy—I do it all the time!”

Mick snorted. “Since when does Josef Kostan laugh at himself?”

“Oh, I meant at you.”

Thank you so much, Moonlighter!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story--both of them (I'll have to see if I can come up with any other JK pearls of wisdom for the future). Josef was very well rewarded with that smile--I like to think that she perhaps something caused her to wake up eventually--at Mick's expense or not! Tee hee...

P.S. Poor Mick, everyone's laughing at him getting laughed at by Josef! He needs a :comfort2:
