Honest, there is a followup to this...residing in my pile of half-finished fics. (It's rather a large pile at present...)

Thanks for reading, and I do appreciate the interest in a further part!

:rolling: Just had to read this again when it popped up. Love it! Would love a sequel, too. Just saying. :rolling:

It was possible, if Josef had received a severe head wound, that his neural pathways simply had not yet re-routed. Mick remembered a couple of years back, when he’d taken a bullet in the skull from Tina Haggans. The organic damage had healed quickly, but his brain hadn’t come fully back on line for hours afterwards.
That's as good an explanation as any why he showered with Morgaline but let Beth inside and his lame excuse of "It's not what it looks like." :snicker:

Thanks, francis, maggatha!

I haven't thought about this one lately, in terms of a "part 2" but I wouldn't rule it out!

Yeah. Damaged neural pathways. That's the reason. :eyeroll:

Seriously, though, Lucky, I really enjoyed reading this again, and I'm glad it's still on your "to think about continuing" pile!

Lucky

I have a huge pile of unfinished fics, too, but they aren't remotely as good as this!

Josef's innate attitude and snarkiness is intact but somewhere the circuit is not closing. What a wonderful way to showcase Mick's detective skills, and his deep friendship with Josef. I'm betting that Josef is going to start to rely on him quickly, as somewhere in there is the knowledge that this is his closest friend. But before that happens, there are the instincts of a 400 year old vampire who has survived by his wits.

Josef has seen firm evidence of what he is, and Josef has never exhibited an inability to cope with a difficult truth. He will adjust and adapt. Oh. Wait. It just occurred to me that could Josef be faking this? If Mick has done something that Josef feels necessitates a bit of payback, this would be classic, over the top, Kostan payback. No one is hurt but feathers are definitely ruffled.

Absolutely wonderful either way!!!!

This is amazing!!! It draws you right in, and I have read it many times before.

You are amazing.

Thank you.

Jenna

It has been a long time since I read this fic. It actually felt new to me. I love the description when the scent hits his nose. He wants more and a lot more......

This was such a fabulous story opener...and thank goodness, it is so good that we can be happy for it, even though we'll have to use our imaginations to find out why Josef lost his memory! :chin:
