as I’ve become so slow in updating my story I seem to have lost many readers. For those who want to get back into the story but don’t remember what it was all about, I did this chapter guide. You can open the spoilers and see a short summary. I hope this is helpful.

Twists of Fate - Chapter 1

Beth comes to Josh after her first life broadcast and they have breakfast together. Explores the normality of their relationship, and their different viewpoints on life.

Josh is informed by Carl about what happened, that Beth ran away from the scene. Beth is clearly in shock. Josh thinks it’s because she shot someone, but ist because Mick is a vampire. She doesn’t tell him, and rejects his attempts to comfort her.

Josh and Beth have a night together. She clings to him for safety, not able to deal with what Mick told her. Josh doesn’t know. He loves Beth.

Morgan meets Josh again and feeds him that a contact at Buzzwire gave her the information. He tries to get her to tell him who and suggests a lunch date.
At their lunch date Morgan flirts with him, but tells him she isn’t interested, when he tells her he has a girlfriend. She wants him to make up for treating her so curtly last time. He is flattered.

In the evening (scene from the show) Josh asks Beth if she knows Morgan. She tells him that she sometimes uses photos by her, but doesn’t really know her well.

Josh and Beth visit Mick to get his help with Leni’s dissappearance. Josh wonders about Mick’s kitchen. Josh and Beth have a heated conversation in the car afterwards, because Josh is openly jealous.

He meets Carl to ask about Mick, because noone seems to really connect to Mick. Carl doesn’t know anything about his private life, or his friends.
Then Mick and Leni are attacked in the desert. When Beth accuses Josh of being the leak he is crushed. But then Mick and Leni are found and Kevin turns out to be the leak.

After the desert Josh finds Beth at the police station giving her statement. She’s eager to get the story out. Josh finds Morgan at his flat. She admits that she knew that Kevin was the leak, but that she never wanted anyone to get hurt. She sounds sincere, almost guilty. He asks what agenda she has then. She doesn’t tell. But she gives Josh ideas about some odd details of the desert incident. Why was Mick so sick?

Josh is suspicious when Beth reacts so confusing about the wounds in her arm and Mick doesn’t get back at them. Josh plans their anniversary, Beth isn’t happy about the prospect of having friends over. He convinces her to see a doctor about her wrist. Then Morgan meets him to invite him to accompany her to a nightly park. They talk about his relationship with Beth, things are strained and he needs to talk to someone.

Beth and Josh meet Mick at the hospital and have an awkward conversation. The anniversary dinner doesn’t go over well, Beth leaves for the morgue. When the friends leave he feels awful because he senses that he’s losing Beth. He calls Morgan and asks her to do their walk through MacArthur Park now.

Josh likes the night with Morgan in the park. She’s interesting and she’s interested in him. They visit a diner and Morgan eats a Donut. Morgan gives him some relationship advice. She tells him to talk to Beth and if there’s nothing to save to break up. He is in pain, she hugs him, and on impulse, he kisses her. She doesn’t mind, but tells him to make a decision before taking it any further. They lighten the mood by talking about mythical creatures, like werewolves and vampires.

Josh spends a quiet day, getting a text message from Beth once in a while. She’s on a case of a killed escort. He takes a nap and has a strange dream about Morgan turning into a vampire. When he wakes Morgan calls and invites him to show him her photos. There she seduces him, and they have sex. Afterwards he feels bad about it. He didn’t break up with Beth yet.

Josh visits Beth. She tells him that the escort case is closed. They break up. It hurts, but they finally talk everything out.

Josh feels depressed after the break-up, he’s angry at Morgan and jealous of Mick and thinks about the oddities he saw in Mick. He listens in on a conversation between Morgan and Beth at Buzzwire and is shocked about the games Morgan seems to play.

Josh has a new case, a drug that they can’t identify. He meets Beth at the crime scene and plans a raid at the club. He likes Morgan but he’s still hung up on Beth. When he sees Mick and Beth together at the club he goes into a jealous rage. He has a row with Beth.

Josh and Carl interview the bouncer of the club and make a plan of raiding the warehouse. In the afternoon Morgan visits him and tries to warn him about Lola, telling him that she’s a vampire, but he has a hard time believing her. He thinks she’s friends with Lola and just tries to protect her.
She tells him more about vampires and he thinks about Mick having the same characteristics. Then Morgan slips him some B.C. and reveals that she’s a vampire too. She tells him her real name and that she’s been human for a while. She seduces him and they have sex. Afterwards he accuses her of trying to frame him with the drug. She cries and leaves.

Back at the office Josh meets with Beth. He tells her that they couldn’t find the drug and they both admit they had taken it. They are both embarrassed that they had sex while on the drug, this being the final break in their relationship, reducing it to just friendship.
Josh tries to get something out of Beth about Mick, but she doesn’t fold, even if she’s alarmed at his questions.
The raid goes terribly wrong, and Josh thinks about vampires who sacrifice human life to get away. Would Mick and Coraline be the same?

After a rough night where Josh tries to make sense of everything he calls Morgan. They meet for lunch. She is human again and tells him to be careful, that she has to mask her condition because someone’s after her. He asks her a few questions, and she tells him that she needs his help. In the evening they meet at her house. He has more questions, and then they make love. Afterwards she tells him about her relationship to Mick and that he tried to kill her. She tells him she has a plan to get back into his life, to confuse him and get revenge. She’s not sure if she wants him back or if she wants Josh now. She makes a photo of her and Josh.

Josh meets with Beth the next day and he tells her that he doesn’t trust Morgan. He tells her that Morgan hinted that Mick wouldn’t be who he pretends to be. But they both don’t come clean about the vampire thing.
That night there’s a fire at the Franklin Hotel. Josh meets Beth and asks her to keep an eye on Morgan, to keep her busy. He then meets Mick at his office and asks him to investigate Morgan, too. That way, he will keep them busy and eventually find out more about Morgan, too. When Josh meets Morgan at the police station, where she’s reporting a break-in, she kisses him in public.
That night there’s a fire at the Franklin Hotel. Josh meets Beth and asks her to keep an eye on Morgan, to keep her busy. He then meets Mick at his office and asks him to investigate Morgan, too. That way, he will keep them busy and eventually find out more about Morgan, too. When Josh meets Morgan at the police station, where she’s reporting a break-in, she kisses him in public.

Josh comes to Morgan’s apartment and finds Mick and Beth there. He hears that her cameras have been stolen and they look for clues of why. They see that she shot a picture of the arsonist killing a woman, but don’t recognize that the picture is faked and it’s Josh and Morgan.
Josh and Morgan have a fight later because he wants her to stop playing games with Mick and them all. She throws him out.

Josh and Mick have a talk and go to Mattola’s house together. They find the cameras. They confront Morgan with these facts, but she doesn’t flinch and sticks to her story. She wants Mick to go to the cemetery with her.

Mick and Josh discuss what they know and what they don't. Josh still doesn't reveal to Mick that he knows about vampires and about Morgan really being Coraline. Josh decides to talk to Morgan once more, but she doesn't leave her plan and wants to rattle Mick's cage a bit more. When she leaves, Josh stays in her apartment and starts reading her diary. Good thing he learned French in school.
....this gives me incentive to pick it back up again. Thank you for doing this.
