I do not own any recognizable characters no copyright infringement is intended.

Mick and Beth spent nine hours stuck in JFK airport.

Mick was shivering waiting for the AirTrain connection to Newark airport.

Beth smiled. “You were the one who wanted a Christmas wedding.”

“Dddon’t remind me.” Mick stammered. “I can’t believe how cold it is here.”

Beth kissed him. “You should have waited to take the cure until we landed in Barbados.”

Mick shook his head. “No. I wanted to be human when I said our vows. Till death do us part has no meaning unless…..”

Beth put her hand on his mouth. “No more of that death stuff. I am worried you’re going to catch pneumonia.”

“How was I to know there was going to be a blizzard? We should have gone to Honolulu, then it wouldn’t have mattered what happened in New York.

“I suggested that but you wanted to hit all the Caribbean islands.”

Mick was blowing on his hands. “Well, I want to get as much sun as I can. Who knows how long I can enjoy it?

They heard crackling over the loud speaker

“Attention all AirTrain Customers. Due to the Snow Emergency all service is suspended until further notice. Repeat all service is suspended there are no connecting trains from JFK to Newark Liberty Airport.”

“What are we going to do?” Mick said. We don’t have a car.”

Beth was worried about him. His breath was turning to smoke. They went into the gift shop where she got directions and two I HEART NY Sweatshirts. She handed one to Mick. “Go into the Men’s room and put this on over your Henley. We have to take the subway back to Manhattan and reschedule for tomorrow.”

Mick looked at the shirt with disgust. “This is so touristy. I won’t wear it.”

Beth put her hands on her hips. “You better put it on or I’m going to wrap you up in a travel blanket like a child.”

Mick lowered his voice. “Beth, I sleep in a freezer. I can take the cold.”

“You slept in a bed at the Waldorf Astoria last night. You’re a California boy, not meant for this weather. Look our flight got cancelled, they rescheduled us out of Newark but…..she glanced at her Iphone. That flight’s been cancelled. I’m not spending my honeymoon in the hospital. She poked him hard in the chest. “Put this shirt on now.”

Mick went into the bathroom and changed. He had to admit he felt much better in the ugly but warm shirt. He put his coat back on and met Beth.

Beth smiled “Okay, now we have to take the “A” train back to midtown.

Mick sighed. “I miss my car.”

“Do you think you could drive in twenty inches of snow without special reflexes? Beth teased.

Mick growled. “Just wait till I get you alone Missy.”

Beth blew in his ear. “I look forward to it.”

cassy, this is absolutely delightful! I was laughing out loud all the way through. Mick in an I HEART NY t-shirt :rolling: :rolling:
The thing I liked most though, was how totally right you got MIck's psychology in this.

I can so see and hear him saying that and meaning it.

Just lovely. :hearts:

Very good, Cassy! Gee, I wonder what made you think of being stranded in a NY airport during a blizzard... :snicker:

(I hope YOU'RE not stranded at the airport! :gasp: )

Oh, Cassy, this is adorable! I love frozen, shivering Mick. Poor guy, he should've worn gloves. And a hat! Perpetual coolness does you no good when you're human. And hey--Mick may be embarrassed to be wearing a touristy sweatshirt, but at least he'll be warm. And he should really heart NY after spending TWO nights with Beth at the Waldorf-Astoria. :hearts:  :smooch:

Thanks for this lovely story.

I was a bit surprised by Mick shivering at first, but then you explained the cure. It has been a long time since he has shivered. When he was human in L.A., it apparently was Summer.

Hah! Well--from Mr. Pertpetually Cool to Mr. Freeze (but it is only temporary). Beth will look out for her Delicate Flower until he learns the ropes (or relearns them).

He will have a whole new appreciation for warmth now and when he reverts to vampire again (if he does), will not look at his freezer the same for a while.

This was absolutely charming! Beth clearly is in control for the moment, but Mick has been knocked a bit off kilter with all the changes. Big adjustments ahead!

Thanks!

Jenna

Luxe - I'm so flattered that you've come back and that you think I got Mick right.

MLC - Fortunately I'm not at the airport but in the middle of this NYC blizzard.

Alle - I usually wind up making Mick suffer some way. I have never seen an I HEART NY shirts on a person just in stores. You're right he should heart NY starting his honeymoon with Beth and they will be in the sun soon enough.

Red - :rose: Thank you so much for reading and I'm honored you think it was a perfect Moonlight moment

Jen - It's hard for Mick to be human again, it takes time to get your footing. Beth can handle the inconvenience of being mortal a little better. Thanks for reading.

Aww, poor Mick. If you get a chance to walk into them at the Waldorf Astoria, say a greeting to him from me.
He should definitely invest in some warm clothes. I guess Beth will warm him up when they are back at the hotel.
Honolulu would have been fine too, but he might have run into a twin there with a weapon.

I tell you, if Beth doesn't do the job of warming Mick up, I know a whole slew of ladies who are willing to take the opportunity to do so, and they're all lined up BEHIND ME! LOL!!

:rolling: :rolling: cassy, a freezing Mick, shivering under Beth's comments and little worries, and having to wear an I  NY T-shirt! Maybe you should give him an I VISITED NY AND SURVIVED IT one! My poor guy, he is so stylish and all..(can you picture Josef in this condition? He would rather go naked) :rolling:

I missed several comments on this story. Sorry ladies, I'm glad it popped up again so I saw it.

fairytoes - Thanks for reading.

francis - Mick has to watch Honolulu now.

Moonlighter - Beth has it covered, don't worry.

maggatha3 - You're right about Josef, he would go naked and since it's NYC no one would notice.

Love this. Mick's 'perpetually cool' image takes a back seat to pneumonia or frostbite.

That adorable guy has sense after all.

As Beth said back in NSTAV, 'Don't worry, I'll look out for you;

Thank you!
