Decided to try my hand at the 250 word conversation challenge. I don't own Moonlight or any of its characters. Thanks to Moonlighter for giving it the once over.

Post Fever

“Where have you been? You look like hell.”

“That’s where I’ve been.”

“Here, drink this. In fact, drink the whole carafe.”

“Thanks.”

“Feel better?”

“Yeah.”

“Are you going to tell me what happened?”

“I bit her. I… I fed from her.”

“From who? Beth?”

“Of course Beth! Who do you think? Don’t answer that.”

“Then how could you have fed fresh and still look like crap?”

“Josh asked me to find…”

“JOSH asked you? Why…”

“Shut up and let me finish! Josh asked me to locate a young woman named Leni, a secret witness who had run away. We were attacked and had to walk several miles across the desert in the sun. I was burning up with fever.”

“That explains the ‘look like hell’ part.”

“We found a rundown motel that was temporarily closed. I sat in a bathtub of ice water, scared to death I would attack the girl.”

“But you didn’t? So how does Beth fit into all of this?”

“Leni called her. When she arrived, she… she offered to feed me. She knew I would die if I didn’t have blood.”

“She just went up in my estimation. And?”

“And I told her no.”

“You what?”

“But she insisted, so I fed from her wrist. She had to tell me when to stop, and I managed to stop. She saved my life.”

“So why the long face?”

“That’s not how I wanted our first time to be!”

“Well, at least you planned on a first time.”

Very nice, MLC! :rose: I've always wondered just how Mick would tell Josef about his adventure in the desert.

:yahoo: I agree with Josef! I have to wonder if Mick ever would have fed from Beth had he not been close to death. While this may not have been how he would have liked their first time to be, at least it happened.

Thank you! :hearts:

MLC

Makes total sense.

I think Mick tells Josef almost everything. I wish I thought Josef reciprocated, but that is another issue. Also, it explains Beth seemingly to steadily rise in the elder vampire's estimation as the episodes progressed.

Fabulous answer to the challenge.

Thank you!

"Not yours! Not like this!" Yeah, he had been thinking about it, all right. :winky: :hearts:

Poor Mick. He's a mess. And Josef can't help but snark at him... but he gave him a carafe of the good stuff. And I love what he said about Beth! :yahoo:

I think my favorite line is, “Of course Beth! Who do you think? Don’t answer that.” :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: Pooooor Mick! :snicker:

This is great! Of course Mick would tell Josef, he was later teased about "happy hour".
So Mick had thought about a first time. Love this!

I agree with Lucy on both counts, MLC - this is great and I could see it as being a missing scene :hearts:

Again I say well done, MLC!! :friends: :friends: :friends: Challenge met and conquered.

I also love the insight that at least Mick was thinking about moving forward with Beth. But as usual, he has to be nudged into it, but at least it happened!

Loved it! Even if Mick wasn't consciously thinking of it, he was certainly hoping he would intimately bite Beth.

:rose: Thank you so much! I do consider it a "missing scene". I figured Mick drank just enough from Beth to get by, but no more. He still would have needed more blood to before we saw him sitting in his loft, and then on the other side of the door from Beth.

:clapping: Beautiful, MLC!! Such a great missing scene and I love how Mick and Josef are so much themselves, Mick in his eternal angst and Josef snarky as ever!! :hearts: :hearts:

Perfect MLC, how would Josef react to this news. I think you have written it perfectly. Of course Josef has to go down the sexual innuendo :snicker: He always has to think of that especially where Mick and Beth are concerned.

And Josef don't answer who else it might have been, god knows we only have so long in a day to read one story and 100+ pages might be hard going :giggle:
