Heads Up (Challenge #135) -- PG-13

Another brief conversation for our 250 word challenge. It occurs to me that this conversation, or one very like it, almost had to have occurred during "The Mortal Cure."
Heads Up
“What is it, Cynthia? I’m busy.”
“You’ve got a problem.”
“Oh?”
“That cochon of a husband of yours is poking around.”
“He’s not a problem.”
“He’s always a problem.”
“Whatever he’s doing, I can handle him.”
“He showed up at my hotel room, just now. Asking a lot of nosy questions. My hotel room. He shouldn’t even know I’m in town.”
“You didn’t tell him anything, did you?”
“Oh, we sat down and had a long chat about old times. Over drinks and dinner. Of course I didn’t tell him anything. I’m not stupid.”
“He’s not such a bad guy, you know.”
“I’ve never trusted him. Never.”
“We’ve been over this.”
“Well…”
“What did he want to know?”
“He was looking for you. And he suspects… something.”
“But he doesn’t know anything.”
“He knew I helped you get out of that hospital, Coraline. How could he know that? We were so careful.”
“You know how it is, these days. Security cameras everywhere. It’s not important. Look, we’re on the verge of a breakthrough, here.”
“If he found me, he can find you. And your lab.”
“What else did he say?”
“He asked about the plants. I told him, they were herbs, you know, for restaurants. But he certainly didn’t believe me.”
“We can’t move the operation right now. We’re so close.”
“Fine. Whatever. But if he finds you, all our plans will be down the drain. You know that, don’t you?”
“Don’t worry, ma cher. I’ve got it under control.”
