Mick, Between the Lines (Sonata drabble)


"How can you remember that?"

How can I remember that? How could I not remember that? The night my whole life changed. The night that the shadows refused to hold me anymore. The night when I looked past the little girl I’d rescued, time and again, and guarded from afar, and saw the woman she’d become. A woman worth risking everything—my secrets, my fears, my life—for. How do you forget the details of a night that was the final step back from the brink, from frozen silence, into the light. How can I remember?

"Because I love you."
