What Girls Do

“Isn’t that what humans do?”

I couldn’t repress a grin, and I’ll bet he could read all kinds of joy in my eyes. I didn’t have to say yes. Mick, asking me for a normal date. Something I never thought would happen. Could ever happen, considering. This man who’d seen so much pain, suffered so much, was smiling at me. Really smiling. If he’d still been a vampire, he’d have heard my heart skipping a beat.

At least I managed to turn away, before I did a private little fist pump of triumph. Things were going our way, at last.

Another one!?

This scene has always been one of my favourites, and you summed it up perfectly - Mick asking, Beth's grin, Mick's genuine smile, and then Beth's "fist pump of triumph."

Mick and Beth have been through a lot together. The date may not be exactly what either of them hoped for, but they will make the best of it.

Well, you know, drabbles are a bit like potato chips. You can't write just one. (At least, I can't...demonstrably.)

I'd love to say I had this planned, but really, I just started getting inspired by the quotes being used in the "who said it?" game, and rolled from there.

I love this scene too... and yeah, I can pretty much hear her heart skipping a beat there... and that little lip-bite she does? It makes me hug myself with happiness for them, at the same time I get a little pang, because we all know that date didn't go quite as they had planned. But they did make the best of it. And eventually, Beth did convince Mick that being a vampire wasn't all he was... something she'd known all along.

Ahhh!!! Lovely. Seems I have missed all the action on Valentine's day! Such a scene it is! Sad though, when you know how this date will turn out , their amazing smiles would freeze a little later. But , at least, they (we) are getting there....
