Jacob has been cast as Richard Chavez in the upcoming film Chavez, a bio-pic about civil-rights activist and labor organizer Cesar Chavez. The film will star Michael Peña in the title role. Jacob will play his brother.

The film is still in the pre-production stages, but it is expected to film in Mexico.

This is great news for Jacob! I can't wait to see this film. Cesar Chavez is a real hero in my opinion. I really hope this movie is good, and that it does wonders for Jacob's career.

I watched the movie this evening. Jacob's part was smaller than I'd hoped but he was definitely visible.

It was interesting in that I didn't know much about Cesar Chavez. It was sometimes a little uncomfortable because there was a lot of confrontation in the movie.

Aww, too bad the part wasn't bigger. But it's still a good opportunity for him.

Being the age I am, and having grown up mostly in California, Cesar Chavez's story is very familiar to me, although I don't know all the details. And I'm not surprised the movie was difficult to watch. It was a hard fight with a lot of struggle, and it went on for a very long time. The struggle for farmworkers' rights is still going on today.
