Okay, Luxe wrote a wonderful post in the General Movie thread about The Thomas Crown Affair (the original one), and it got me thinking, that with Mick being such a Steve McQueen fan and all...he'd have gone to see it, for sure. And here's a drabble.

The Movie Fan

I bought a tub of popcorn, mostly for camouflage, and something to occupy my hands. Besides, I like the smell. It reminds me of… life, and the way I used to love movies, as a boy. The Thomas Crown Affair, though, that’s a modern movie, not like the westerns I used to love in the ‘40s. Steve McQueen has enough cool to make a vampire jealous, and Faye Dunaway? I’m undead, but I’m not blind. I’ve seen this movie three times, and it keeps getting better. There’s something comforting in movies. They don’t change, either. McQueen will always be cool.

Oh Lucky, this piece makes me as nostalgic for Mick as he is about... life! There is something sad about Mick's musing that the characters in movies never change either. I adore his envy of The King of Cool! :teeth:

Oooh, what Luxe said. This is a wonderful look into Mick's psyche, and what we find there is pretty close to what we would find in our own human thoughts. Except that Mick has that 85-year-old viewpoint... and Steve McQueen is the perfect guy for Mick to fantasize about, as we know... :melts:

Steve McQueen is just the role model for a flailing Mick over the years. Mick wants to be a hero, too, and his secrets are in no way cool, just bothersome sometimes. Love that he buys popcorn for the smell.

Yepper.....this is bonified Mick from the middle of his heart to the tips of those butter infused senses. :clapping:

Wow! I just LOVE this! :hearts: There's so much Mick "truth" packed into this short piece, but this has to be my favorite part...

Oh, thanks...blame Luxe for this one! She inspired it. Somehow, I can see Mick spending a lot of time absorbing McQueen's cool.

Fabulous.

You can tell so much about a person by the movies they love, the characters they treasure and subconsciously emulate and their favorite genre.

Makes sense that Mr. Perpetually Cool would like Steve McQueen.

Thank you!

Jenna

Mick sought out life whenever and wherever he could -- even at the movie theatre. :happysigh:

It's so easy for me to picture him sitting there with an untouched tub of popcorn...being all angsty, but still enjoying the movie.
