Well one thing for sure is that our livers will not be happy campers for the next few days! I do feel good about TR getting the green light this fall, but
(don't get mad at me), If CBS doesn't do a medical show this fall (and I believe TR will be that medical show) I can see it being the first pick up show for mid season. For now I am just going with delusional euphoria with the help of a good cosmo (in about another 2 hours) with what Nikki said, because I will bet my first born that another blog or article will knock us on our royal behinds soon enough.

Here is the official definition of rabid
1. irrationally extreme in opinion or practice: a rabid isolationist; a rabid baseball fan.
2. furious or raging; violently intense: a rabid hunger.
What does it have to do with us?

Not a thing....we're passionate, that's all. Not to mention, we appreciate talent and beauty when we see it.
There are or were others, however, for whom that badge is appropriate.....

Unfortunately, after ML's cancellation we became described as rabid with the irrational assaults on article and blog comments sections for one thing, so the first definition did apply at the time. As we know there was other extreme behavior. It's not fair, because many of us didn't conduct ourselves that way, but the ones that did definitely stood out. I never appreciated the fandom being described that way, but at this point it is really tired and way overdone. I wish they'd pick one of Alle's adjectives.

My dictionary gave fanatical as the second choice.darlingcat wrote:Here is the official definition of rabid

Fanatical is defined as possessed or driven by excessive or irrational zeal.
Zeal is defined as enthusiastic and diligent devotion in pursuit of a cause, ideal or goal; ardor; fervor.
It takes a while but I finally found something palatable.

Thank goodness we're so reasonable... not rabid at all. I see no mouth-foaming here. Just appreciative fans, waiting (im)patiently for the happy news that Three Rivers has been picked up for the fall.

Thank you for the definition. I always wondered what that word means, (English is not my first language) but I had an odd feeling it's not a "nice" word!darlingcat wrote:Here is the official definition of rabid

Re: Three Rivers - news, links, discussion - part 3
No offense, but considering that tvbythenumbers does nothing but rely on OTHER people to supply them info so they can post it on their site, I don't think they have room to talk. If they were the ones out there with actual sources, then that would be a different story, but they're not. And frankly, a few of the writers there have major attitudes. So much for objective journalism, huh?VAsusieQ18 wrote:I'm still trying to stay a bit grounded. Nikki's sources are usually considered very reliable, but TVbytheNumbers has been slamming her a bit for the past week or so, saying her "sources" were dead wrong on several supposed pilots that NBC was going to pick up. She's also taken some heat for reporting that Chuck's fate was to have been decided earlier this week.
So until I hear it from more than one reliable source, I'm still going to try and stay positive, yet realistic!
Yeah, right! Like thats going to happen!
As for Nikki Finke, she's got a hell of a lot of credibility. Is she sometimes wrong? Absolutely. Hell major news publications are sometimes wrong too. And if you read all of Nikki's blog, she's juggling a LOT of info all by her lonesome. No small feat.
Thanks for the info, mwj!! The nail biting continues!!

Fanatical---no, we do not display irrational zeal----it is very rational; I mean, just look at the guy!jmc wrote: Fanatical is defined as possessed or driven by excessive or irrational zeal.

It takes a while but I finally found something palatable.
So I prefer zealots---definitely an enthusiastic and diligent devotion in pursuit of a cause!
We are zealots! Not HARLOTS, mind you; ZEALOTS!
