OK, for some reason, this just made me laugh out loud...
It's a perfectly reasonable question.

Back in the days when I followed a certain singer you can only imagine some of the things he was asked to sign.

*squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

OK, I uploaded a few pics and I'll post them soon. They are blurry--there was no way to get good shots. My hands were trembling too much and the crowd was pushing.

Alex got out of the limo on OUR side of the street and walked right over and started signing stuff. He was about 15 feet from us. We started calling to him (blush) and his handler saw us--we had a big "SoCal Freshies" sign and a bunch of small ' ALEX FAN" ones, too. She told him about us and he worked his way down to us. He signed something for every one of us. I was SO TORN between having him sign my sonnet cycle (which Jason had signed) and having him sign the Criminal Minds script... but I decided that the script was the best thing to ask him for, because it's shared between me and MyImmortal, so it's for both of us. I told him we'd bought it before the ep aired and didn't read it and he grinned. And he was happy we bought the script as a fundraiser. :hearts:

He looked incredibly handsome. Not tired--he was energized by the crowd, smiling and laughing and taking TONS of time, both with "regular" fans and with the people on the "white carpet" (of course it wasn't red, it was WHITE for Whiteout!) Seriously--he worked the crowd for more than half an hour.

Kate Beckinsale was gorgeous and very nice, but she didn't make it to our group. WillingFreshie's son, who is a sweetie-pie, had a poster he was hoping she would sign, but no such luck, sigh.

But otherwise... a wonderful experience, such a rush and SO joyous. He is truly a nice guy, and much handsomer even, in person than he is on screen.

Just... :happysigh: :happysigh: :happysigh: :happysigh:

Oh, I forgot the most important part. I was close enough to smell him if I'd done the sexy vampire sniffing thing. but I didn't. For one thing, I was on the other side of a fence and it'd have been weird. For another, I was just... flustered. I was trying to take pictures and hold a sign and hold my script for him to sign, and just keep from fainting. I did my best, but I really didn't have it together to smell him.

But he looked squeaky clean and perfectly groomed, without looking too "done," if you know what I mean. He looked handsome and... real. He looked like the handsomest real guy in the world. And he was really trying to listen to everything people said to him. He has this way of connecting with the people he talks to, so they know he's paying attention. It's really amazing. If Alex can maintain this genuineness in the wilds of Hollywood, I will be so happy for him.

I know I sound like a giddy schoolgirl, but you know what I felt most? I felt nurturing toward him. Like I just wanted him to be happy and to succeed. I felt more like a mom than a crazy fan who wanted to jump his bones. And for that I am truly grateful, because I'm old enough to be his mother.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Alle! It's refreshing to hear you felt nuturing for him. I hope I have the same feeling when my time comes. Maybe "friend" is more what I'd like to feel than "mom" but it's all good. Have we "finally gotten over the hotness''? Naaaahhhh!

So does he know about the So Cal Freshies?

Can't wait to see the pics!

Here are some pictures taken and cropped by me, and then cleaned up in Photoshop by the wondrous Lilly. Note that Alex's expressions are much warmer and happier when he is surrounded by his fans than when he's on the carpet, facing a million flashing cameras and people who don't love him (but instead want to suck him dry):

And still with the top button undone. I can't tell you how much I love that.

Wonderful stories and pics, alle (And I totally get the flustery thing. Totally.).

What a happy day.
