redwinter101 wrote:I just got my weekly email newsletter from Buddy TV with their picks of the week. They only pick two shows for the weekend and one of them this week is Three Rivers, with this blurb:
Moonlight star Alex O'Loughlin goes from vampire to surgeon in this new drama about an organ transplant team that saves lives, and looks darn good while doing it.
AFAIK, this goes to everyone registered on their site.

Alex O'Loughlin and Travis Stork Swap Roles

By William Keck September 29, 2009 01:17 PM EST

Image

Alex O’Loughlin, the hunky star of CBS’s new medical drama, Three Rivers, will be checking in to the syndicated talk show, The Doctors, this Friday, October 2, to discuss organ donation, which is the theme of Alex’s show. Then, The Doctors’ hunky real life surgeon and former Bachelor, Dr. Travis Stork, will return the favor, guest-starring as an anesthesiologist alongside Alex in a pivotal scene to air on Three Rivers later this fall. It is Travis’ first acting role.

"Acting is a lot harder than I thought it would be,” says Travis. “I definitely prefer being a doctor."

On the fictitious Three Rivers hospital set, Travis says he was impressed by “how realistic everything was. I felt like I was in an actual hospital."

Fortunately, he didn’t attempt to remove any actors’ actual organs

Here's an article about Alex's appearance. As this is Three Rivers related, I'm going to merge it into the Three Rivers thread.

ETA: Having a few problems with the link - just give me a moment!
ETA 2: There were a couple of apostrophes in the URL that were making it go all squirly so I've substituted a link to the main page.

‘The Doctors’ welcome ‘Three Rivers’ star Alex O’Loughlin
Posted by television

Alex O’Loughlin, who plays an organ transplant surgeon in the new CBS medical drama “Three Rivers,” will be a guest on Friday’s installment of “The Doctors” (airing in Oklahoma City at 3 p.m. Oct. 2 on CBS).
He will disuss the importance of organ transplantation and how organ donors save lives. Joining him in the discussion will be Dr. Gonzalo Gonzalez-Stawinski, one of the nation’s leading heart surgeons and the inspiration behind the character O’Loughlin plays.
When O’Loughlin taped his appearance on the talk show, it wasn’t the first time he shared a stage with “The Doctors” co-host Dr. Travis Stork. The day before the taping, Dr. Stork made his acting debut on the set of “Three Rivers,” playing an anesthesiologist in a pivotal scene with O’Loughlin’s character in an upcoming episode.
Friday on “The Doctors,” viewers will get a sneak peek of Dr. Stork’s guest appearance on “Three Rivers,” and go behind-the-scenes of Dr. Stork doing something that he calls “completely out of his element.”
