I have a question. Does CBS own this show instead of Warner Brothers or Universal or some other third party? I seem to remember discussion when we were losing Moonlight that CBS had more inclination to stick with something the owned.

I know what they are saying over at tvbythenubmers isn't pleasant but not too many of them are putting down the show so much as saying due to the statistics they see, they don't feel it will be around much longer. Robert Seidman says frequently that he is not talking about the quality of a show, just the ratings.

When they are proven wrong, then maybe they won't feel like such know-it-alls. But the statistics are on their side. There are exceptions, of course. I don't think CBS will let go of TR so easily. I'd think they would try to move it first. Too bad the first eppi was not outstandingly good. That would have helped. When TR doesn't get cancelled after the next eppi, I might feel justified in going back in saying they were wrong, in a nice way though.

Oh I am totally adopting the "enjoy the show while it lasts" concept. Seeing Alex on tv every week is a freakin' treat. And by mid-week I'm already impatient to see him again. But I'm not an idiot. With their numbers, it could end at any time.

So I'm gonna revel in every single solitary episode.

Cause if we learned one thing from ML, it is you never have a CLUE what CBS is gonna do... even when they leak something or promise something... that doesn't mean that's what they're gonna do.

Tho I fail to see how people can HATE this show. Not like it, find it dull or predictable, fine. But it's sincere, and the acting, if not the writing, is actually good. So how do you hate this? I think there are peeps who will hate anything Alex is in because they hate the crazy rabid ML fans... and I don't mean us. I mean the truly crazy rabid ones... they are out there... dammit.

And we are ML fans, after all. We can handle confusion better than any other fan out there!
Not sure I agree assuming (and this is a big assumption) that they get more into character based storylines like Andy's trying to get back with his wife.

Using your example against Moonlight, they would have shown Sonata right after Fever and Mortal Cure right after Black Crystal. I do get that Moonlight was much more character driven and is less switchable than I think TR will be, but you get the idea. Switching episodes leaves gaps where the audience gets lost instead of following the story.

I kind of wonder if episode 2 would have been as weak had the true first episode with its more extensive character background had shown first.

Uh, I was joking!! And the confusion comment was meant partially in jest, but kinda in truth--because Bob knows that us ML fans have been through the wringer. In no way was I referencing ML's eps--those definitely needed to be in order in order to make sense---and 3R probably does too, now that some of the character's personal lives have been established. My point is that as a total and complete Alex fan, I will watch that show no matter what happens, how long it airs, and in whatever order they air it.

Or, perhaps a bit of lighthearted reading material? (page 14 of this week's TV Guide)

You know...I try to be so good. I regularly remind folks that Alex is talented, and not just pretty.

And then he says THAT. :gasp:

He's undone all my good work. :teeth:
