Story Count Update
Challenge: 1000 stories by December 24
Dear moonlightaholics,
In the last months the number of new fanfic is still more than I can possibly read on a busy day, but it has been going slow for some time now. It might be that we are more busy in summer, or more bound to go out, or maybe we just have lost our muses due to whatever. Sometimes having a goal helps to find back into the mojo. So I had this idea for a global challenge to our members.
I ran this idea by the mods, and they gave their blessing.
This board has currently (as of November 11th) 941 oneshot stories, drabbles, original work, poems and multichapters in the library.
Let’s give moonlightaholics a Christmas present. Let’s make it 1000 by December 24th.
You can do any of the following things to achieve that:
- Write a new story. A drabble, a one-shot is enough. Or start the multichapter you always wanted to write. Updates to current stories sadly don’t count.
- Look at one of the old challenges where you didn’t contribute because of whatever reason (no time, no inclination). Maybe there’s some idea you haven’t explored yet.
- Post a story that you have on your harddrive but didn’t bring over yet for whatever reasons, maybe because you wanted to edit it, or wanted to save it for a special time. This time could be November or December 2009.
- Invite a writer you know from another board who doesn’t post here yet. If you like their stories, and their personality, why not ask them to come over? We don’t want to hurt other boards, but what’s wrong with crossposting, anyway?
So, are you up for it? Our goal is only 60 stories away.
You are invited to link your story from this thread, to bump the idea up once in a while and to show the progress.
Let's keep the show alive!

Re: Christmas challenge: 1000 stories
francis -- This is such a wonderful idea. I want to thank you for presenting it to all of us.
With 43 days until Christmas, this seems very doable.
It's less than 2 new fics a day. And what lovely presents to ourselves they will be.
Will you please keep us posted on our progress?

Re: Christmas challenge: 1000 stories
Milestones, milestones, everywhere I turn. But this is a great one. 1000 stories - about a show that ran for 16 episodes. Talk about inspirational.
Fantastic idea, francis (and how much do I love your database? Love you too, but also lovin' the database...).

Re: Christmas challenge: 1000 stories
*ahem* Well, just for you, francis...I've posted ch 1 of a new story. "A Game of Chess" is a new historical Josef story. (Big surprise, huh?)
So we're off and running!

Francis, you're brilliant.
Thank you!
Grace & I are currently working out the finer plot points of a new Mick & Lance story ... so that's another story in the works.

Re: Christmas challenge: 1000 stories
I have a Christmas one-shot I posted last year on another site and had been wondering about bringing here. Maybe this is a sign.
Would that count?
