Don't want to veer off topic, but just how long is Alex in Whiteout? It is worth buying the DVD for the length of time he is in it? And finally are all the tats in the picture real - in other words are they all his?

You can actually see Alex for about 10 minutes in the movie. There's probably another 5-10 minutes where he's dressed fully in his winter gear so its value is questionable. Of course, there is that three second clip that is REALLY interesting if you have a DVD player on your PC that goes really slow (like VLC).

If you're unsure - rent first unless the DVD is inexpensive. In the US, the blue ray version has some extras but the "Alex" portions of those have been posted on youtube by kind Alex fans.

The tats that we can see are his. If you scroll back through the pages here, you'll see the tats (See top of page 16 on this thread). He never turns his back so we never see the tramp stamp.

The movie is dull and focused on Kate Beckinsale's (dull) character. All the Alex action in the second half involved him in full arctic gear so you can barely make out it's him..

Total screen time - probably 20 minutes at a rough guess. But, for me, still worth it - I guess you've got to make your own call on that one.

Red, I got online to check the release date here and it was supposed to come out in October last year. if it did it must have had a 2 week run, because I never saw any ads for it.

Luxe - I went to the first showing at the local theater, along with a half-dozen hearty souls....the movie had a really short run locally (about 3 weeks). Red's right - it's a yawner, with Kate Beckinsale in nearly every scene, including the gratuitous shower scene. Really, a shower scene in Antarctica? I guess they had to draw the guys in somehow.....

Red - thanks for the screencaps - it was fun to see Alex in something of a 'bad boy' mode. Except of course if he's trying to kill you

2 weeks if it was lucky. It bombed. iTunes has it to buy or rent here - so that's worth checking.

A bit late to the party, but...Whiteout was boring, but the Alex parts are totally worth the purchase price of the flick - and I bought it in HD.

And - A-frickin'-MEN on the chest hair, Luxe. A man should look like a MAN - and Alex is definitely that.
