In the penthouse room
There was a fireplace
And an old jazz tune
And a picture of -
a singer who knew how to croon.
There were some funky chairs
And a set of stairs
And two lighted towers
And a really cool shower
And some decorative lamps
And a couple of vamps
And some glass on display
And a tumbler of “A”
And a lovely young lady who came by to say “Hey.”
Goodnight room
Goodnight moon
Goodnight singer who knew how to croon
Goodnight fire
And the great jazz tune
Goodnight chairs
Goodnight stairs
Goodnight towers
Goodnight shower ........ (Ooops - moving right on....)
Goodnight books
And goodnight nooks
Goodnight cool lamps

This piece was written well before cancellation, just as a bit of fun (it was a follow-up to the "Green Eggs and Ham" parody), but it certainly has become quite bittersweet in retrospect.
