Oh dear... http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/20 ... _plan.html

I've been getting torrent and rapidshare alerts for the last couple of days (in high numbers) and this makes it official. This is NOT good.

A new challenger to beat the shirt off Hollywood's leading men? asks CTV.

That's a rhetorical question, right?

Interesting article. Notice that they mention that 'fiercely loyal' ML following...but it's like TR never existed.

I really don't think that any kind of 'leak' will affect opening week-end numbers. As all of us know, Rom-coms have a tendency to do fairly well, as they appeal to the masses. Not to mention the massive amount of promotion they have done for this film. My biggest hope is that this movie gets 2 1/2 stars. That's perfectly acceptable for this type of movie and as well as I want this movie to do, the fact that several million new people will be getting to see Alex in action just plain bodes well for his career--whether or not the movie makes a ton of money. As long as it does respectable box office, it should be fine. Based on the clips, etc, I cannot see it bombing. I mean, every clip is either funny or sweetly adorable.

(I know that grace will call me out on my positivity, but Hell, Alex is starring in a major motion picture!!! That is plenty enough to be psyched about!)

I made the mistake of scrolling down and looking at some of the comments. Man, people are mean. I usually never look at stuff like that, and now I know why. I will never understand how people can get off by being cruel to others. Maybe b/c of the anonymity of all? Whatever the reason, it's just pathetic.

Yeah, read those too, Fleurissima...
So apparently it's the peeps who already hate JLo, and thus were not gonna go to the theater, who are watching the leaked online version...

Bet THAT surprised you, Fleur... I"M POSITIVE! Ha! :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Just caught up....

red, I agree with Fleur, the vast majority of people who are going to see a rom com, any rom com aren't going to trade the big screen for their laptop screen or even a plasma (if they're really techno-talented). A rom com is a date night flick, a girl's night out flick. Who in their right mind would want to see a seven inch Alex on a lap-top screen when they can see a seven foot Alex on the big screen?

and yes, beating the shirt off is not meant to be taken literally.

I'm re-posting the link that grace gave us in part 7 of this thread to watch the red carpet live - coverage starts at 9:30 pm EDT

Red Carpet

See, Fleur, less than 24 hours and we're already on page 4 :giggle:

And if you and grace need to be careful with that fork :swords:

Re beating the shirt off, I meant rhetorical as in of course he's going to be the next big Hollywood star.

Re box office, I'd love to agree with you and I hope you turn out to be correct. The best estimate for previous big films leaked online is that they take a 5-10% hit on box office returns, mostly in overseas markets (particularly Asia).

Forget Cheech and Chong, it's grace and fleur in an Alex haze. Much healthier, except for the heart palpatations.
I have been in an absolutely phenomenal mood all week. And Mr O'L is to thank for that. I wonder if he has the slightest clue how happy he is making his fans--to the point of giddiness?!?

Is the premiere thingy tonite?? Please answer tout suite. Maintenant. Quel Domage. Hollandaise. Brie Cheese.

Forgive any misspellings. I think I may have slaughtered not only the French phrases, but 'palpatations'---or palpitations, whatever. He makes my heart go pitter patter.

Wow. I need help.
