So, one week to go... and my tivo is still insisting this first ep to air is a rerun, the description of which matches the plot of Place of Life... the odd choice that CBS made to air as the intro to this series last fall.
IMO, it was THE weakest ep. So why they'd rerun this loser is just beyond me.
It's as if they are afraid this show MIGHT attract viewers and intend actively to prevent it...

you might be onto something, grace or they might be trying to re-introduce the characters before they show the last four unaired episodes, but I agree, not their best episode.

If you go to the CBS Press Bundles (link below), the description of each of the five episodes is given (four of them under the 5/25 bundles, one under the 5/27 bundle). The first one showing on 6/5 (Win-Loss) definitely sounds like the first episode and the guest cast lists the same guest cast as listed for "A Place of Life", the episode we saw last October. :dizzy:

Three Rivers Episodes

I guess we'll find out next week.

They truly were determined to kill this show, weren't they?

Not that it even makes any difference now, but why EVER show Place of Life again??? Show the real intro one, Ryan's First Day... or show the last ep aired, to bring us back up to speed... or show the unaired pilot. Folks wanna see that... no one wants to see Place of Life. Which killed the show the first time 'round.

If they weren't trying, grace, they could have fooled me.

Here's a little something I stumbled onto a few minutes ago.....it's Amber Clayton's screen test with Alex for 3R...I don't think it's been posted before

There's three parts to this, with the first part having the camera focused on Amber's face, with Alex's back to the camera and they run through some dialogue.

the second part is the same as the first, except both actors are face to face, and we see them in profile. :cloud9:

The third is just Amber doing a screen test, and using her own (Aussie) voice.

Pretty cool, from the perspective of listening to the velvet tones of Alex's voice and seeing him in a more 'relaxed' mode running through lines.

Screen Test

Enjoy!

I am totally confused. I would get it if this was the original pilot but it can't be because Alfre Woodard is listed instead of the original woman whose name i can't remember right now. Did they do some sort of crazy editing to put her in? I guess we'll know if we see the tight blue scrubs.

I agree that they should have broadcast the last episode with Uncle Mike to refresh our memories on that instead of Place of Life. There was no character exposition. The only reason Place of Life has going for it is that it introduces Kuol.

And maybe that's why they are showing that one... but snore snore snore... my totally least favorite ep. I hope its ratings are not so low that they cancel the plans to air the final four. :snicker:

Saturday ratings during the regular season are pretty poor....during the summer, they're pretty much expected to be pathetic. CBS will burn off 3R and Miami Medical in lieu of showing what they normally show on Saturdays - reruns of the various crime shows.

I just hope that for the sake of posterity, there might be a 3R DVD released in the future.

I posted a message on Owiso Odera's facebook page (The actor who plays Kuol)
"I'm looking forward to seeing the full story arc for Kuol on the remaining Three Rivers episodes to air on Saturday nights June 5 through July 3. You gave the show a humanity and hopefulness that was missing from the other characters with their technical jargon!"
He just answered:
Looking forward to it too. Kuol's episode will be the finale airing on July 3rd.

And may I say, yet once again, Barbee SO wasted our guy. The scenes exposed in this vid sooooo shows what Alex can do if he's actually given a frikkin story to tell. Grrrrrrrrrrr..... :sigh:

So enjoy the video ONLY IF you're ok being spoiled...

I'm totally fine with being spoiled... especially as God knows when/if I'll ever get to see these episodes anyway. But, thanks to the YT block at work, I shall have to wait HOURS until I can watch.

Harumph.

Glad you enjoyed it though, sweetie.

thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! Dearest grace :smooch:

God, the facial expressions, the range of emotions, especially at the end...and the music just complements it beautifully!! And yes, she did waste him. Seems like there's a lot here with his (Andy's) personal story - which should have been introduced long before it was.
Spoiler:
It looks as though Andy has decided to move on, then Rena shows up. When she touches his hand, does she want him back or is she letting him go. Can't wait to see this.
