Looking for Alex in Mick

Given that we didn't know much about the actor Alex O'loughlin when Moonlight aired, I thought it might be fun to think of some scenes in Moonlight that now speak Alex to us as we know him, cheeky, a bit of a rascal and a lover of life.
I'm finding at the moment, that I'm looking at those gorgeous screen shots from H5-0, and sometimes seeing his other characters in there. And I thought about doing this.
Anyway, I'll start the ball rolling with an easy one!
Mick and Beth at Jack Toland's house in Fever, and Beth is saying that being on the hunt with him is kinda fun, and Mick says, "yeah, it a giant thrill ride that never ends, but sometimes it does end with terrible screams and bloodshed"
All said with THAT smile!!

Okay over to you, my dears.....
What are the Alex moments you can think of?
I hesitate to use the word favourite, for obvious reasons!

Ooh, this is fun. Well, for me, the most Alex-like that Mick ever was, was the "Interview with a Vampire" segment at the beginning of NSTAV. He was kinda flirty, used his hands a lot, and just generally acted more Alex-like and less Mick-like in that segment than any other, IMO. Maybe he hadn't "found" Mick yet...?

OH yeah... LOVE the interview, but it does seem to be a bit different Mick... tho I think that's kinda the point...

At any rate, my addition? In Click, when he and Josef are talking about his Facebook page and Josef knowing Harlow (who woulda been one of Mick's screen idols in his youth, so cool) and Mick is calling Josef Dad. Playful, snarky moment.

I have to agree with AussieJo - that scene about 'a giant thrill ride' popped into my head as I was reading the thread.

One other time was when Beth was teasing Mick in the car about 'it might not be any good' in 'What's Left Behind'. When the camera shifts away from Beth and onto Mick, there is a sly, sideways look that looks like Alex almost broke character......kinda like, 'what, are you kidding me?'



If you watch that scene, Sophia was apparently teasing Alex just after she delivered that line...you can barely see it, but in the lower right hand corner of the screen, she's making some sort of hand gesture at him....wonder what it was.

Ah yes, Karen, Mick's 'cock of the walk' glance definitely had some of Alex in it!

I actually had two 'easy' scenes in mind when I started the thread. This scene also has Mick acting very non-angsty and cute.
It's often quoted as one of the favourite Mick/Beth scenes.
If you haven't got it overnight(my time) l'll give you the episode tomorrow.

Hmmm... is it when Mick says, "You're jealous!" and gives Beth that smug little down-the-nose look? I loooove that scene... especially the "knee kiss" where they're mirroring each other's position, and Beth puts her hand on Mick's...

Its funny, when I watch all of Alex's characters (apart form Mick) I can see lots of Alex in them all. However when I watch Mick I really struggle to see Alex at all. Maybe its the hair being so different to Alexs' hair in real life or just that Mick was so more serious, Iam not really sure. However the scene in ML when I see Alex the most is in Ep 7 (I think) in the flashback to him turning up drunk to Coralines house. Especially the part when he says "Where's your boyfriend - I got something for him".

Somewhat akin to the "giant thrill ride" moment, there's a very quick flash of that in 12:04, when Mick is telling Beth he's going to start looking into Shepherd's family...it's that same wide-eyed expression.

Hey Lucky! you're getting warmer with mine. It's also in 12.04.
As I said yesterday, it's a bit of a fav Mick/Beth moment.
I must check your scene out, Mick's expression doesn't immediately come to mind.

Marg, What you wrote is exactly what got me thinking...... Mick is probably the least like Alex of all his characters, so I thought it would be fun to look for him there!

(Another non Alex-like character would be Vincent, maybe that can be the next challenge!)

I'm sure it's just the strut ('cause it reminds me of the air guitar video clip of Alex), but I always see Alex in this clip.

Any clip where "the tongue" makes an appearance. It seems to come out a bit in ML. Alex can't help it. That tongue is lethal. Did I just say that?
