Don't be put off by the slightly snarky opening - this article puts Alex in some pretty illustrious company: Clooney, Selleck, Alec Baldwin, Nathan Fillion and Don Johnson.
The blogger doesn't actually answer his own title question, however. But maybe that's just as well. There's only one comment so far but, um, trust me (yes, I mean YOU, dsr) it's probably a good idea to avoid as more get posted.

Yeah, if Hawaii hits for Alex, he will be quite a bit younger than these guys were when their shows finally hit.
Tho none of these bloggers give Alex enough credit for ML... ML would not have had a full (well, a strike-shortened version of full) season had it not been for Alex.
But as this guy says, if H50 hits, all will be forgotten... except for by us. Who will all still be here.

It's interesting to me how the folklore around a show changes as memories get adapted to meet a particular blogger's POV. For some, NOW Moonlight was a great show that should never have been cancelled whereas for others it was a failure. The thing they all seem to have in common is collective amnesia about the writers' strike and the impact it had on the whole industry.

That is very true... for as much as that strike really SHOOK the industry, they are all working like mad to forget about it... you hardly ever see a reference to it anymore...

OK. I read the blog and for being around as long as I have (remember, I'm an Ancient now) I have to admit that most of the failed shows listed I've never heard of. I was especially surprised about how many pilots Tom Selleck was in. But once he clicked in Magnum, he was gold.
I think Alex will succeed with H50 - there's just too much going for it. He's talented in his own right, but he's joined by a talented list of co-stars and a stable of writers that have demonstrated they know what they're doing. In short, he's got support in this one and won't have to carry the load. James Marsters said it in one of the ComicCon clips - CBS put their best people on H50. That's true, but if the lead wasn't talented and versitile, they'd be wasting their time and money.
If everything comes together as I think it will, he might actually have some fun.
And red, there's still only one comment - and I didn't read it!!!!!

I sent a comment but it wasn't posted. Maybe I did something wrong, maybe the blogger didn't like me.
