Moonlightfans.com
Moonlightfans is offline.
I have no information about whether it's a temporary situation or if it is gone for good.
I was a member there, but never a regular poster but it was the first Moonlight fansite and, I believe, the only remaining Moonlight site that was in operation during the first run of the show. It was also home to some truly amazing fic, a lot of which may now be gone for good.
There's always a little light, and it cheers me that our little community here is thriving, but it's still a very sad day if MLF is dead.

ETA: Just to correct myself - Moonlight Detective is still running, and was operational during the show, but does not operate a discussion board/forum

Re: Moonlightfans.com
That was the first board I belonged to. I haven't been there in a long while and had no idea it was offline. It saddens me to think it's gone for good. You're right, a lot of wonderful fanfic there. And memories.

I was able to access a Google cache that showed a snapshot as recently as yesterday. There were some posts in the Vampire Diaries section of it yesterday morning. Hopefully it's just a temporary offline.

Re: Moonlightfans.com
I hope you're right, cassy. I tried to get in the other week and it had been so long since I'd visited I couldn't remember my username or password. Even so, it was the first ever fan board I belonged to, the first place I ever posted a fanfic. The reception and spirit of that board is what encouraged me to continue being part of the ML fanbase. MLF really saw me through some dark times as well.

Re: Moonlightfans.com
I never did manage to get an account there, since by the time I figured out the whole forum thing in early 2008, it was already kind of a mess. But I know that it was a really important site, and I mourn its passing.

I noticed that last night too! I was actually busy reading something there and I really panicked (I found it elsewhere, but still). I really, really hope it is only temporary. I don't get there often, but I will be so sad if it is gone.

Is that the one with Patrick? If so, it was the first site I joined for ML, as well. It truly had some awesome fic.

Well, perhaps it's not down permanently...it's been down before and come back.
And if it is gone, perhaps some of those writers will find their way here. You never know.

Re: Moonlightfans.com
Lately the board has been a bit more stable and I have started to read up on the old stories that haven't been posted anywhere else. I'm not nearly finished, though. Maybe my excessive commenting broke it.
There are a lot of stories started when the show was still running fresh, that have never been finished, and I never saw the authors anywhere else. I'd be sad if it's gone for good, but as Lucky said, it's been down before and came back. Maybe someone is taking care of the spammers finally.

It was down for an extremely long time last year - well over a month, as I remember. It eventually came back, though......

I hope it's the same result this time. If anyone hears any more info, or knows how to get in touch with Patrick (admin), I'm sure the members here would appreciate it.Shadow wrote:It was down for an extremely long time last year - well over a month, as I remember. Re: Moonlightfans.com
I've been checking regularly - and there's been no sign of the site coming back up for months now.
Sadly, I think it's safe to say the site's gone for good.
Truly, the end of an era.

Re: Moonlightfans.com
That really is a damn shame. There's so many great resources there, and a TON of fic peeps can't find anywhere else.
