I never understood the two shots until i read something somewhere about what Phil shot.

I think it would have been much better to end it after the shots. The coda, with psycho-Phil, was just a conceit too far for me.

In one of the optional endings that was on the DVD, Jack Thompson comes to get Phil since he went rogue.
