"This is not funny, Mick."

Mick couldn't stop giggling long enough to form a coherent reply. Josef's glare through the circle cleared of frost did nothing to stem the tide as giggle turned to guffaw.

"How long did you say you've been stuck in there?"

"Well, as I choose not to subject vintage Cartier to sub-zero downtime I can only estimate."

"Your assistant said three days."

"Well then I assume she is correct. Now will you stop enjoying yourself at my expense and get the damned thing open?"

Mick set about inspecting the freezer, "Three days. I'm wondering why it took them so long to notice. I mean, surely your little harem started to get lonely? Didn't the Far East desk clamour for your mighty presence?"

Even through the thick layer of glass Mick could hear Josef's snort of disgust. "Oh, believe me, they'll regret it, don't you worry. Or at least they will if you ever stop messing about and get me out of here."

"All right, all right. No need to shout, Josef. Vampire hearing still working fine, thank you." He crouched to inspect the intricate electronics of the latest in freezer design, "Hmm. Looks like the mechanism's frozen. Serves you right for going high tech."

"Just. Get. It. Open. Then we can compare models to your heart's content."

A rustle in the doorway was swiftly followed by a gasp and a giggle.

"You brought Beth?!"

"He didn't "bring" me, Josef. I came all on my own. Mr. Frosty was too good to miss."

Josef closed his eyes, shaking his head and muttering dark threats against all who had conspired to leave him in this parlous state. "Perhaps this is a good time to warn you that I'm hungry and when your better half finally gets me out of here I shall be looking for the nearest warm body."

"Now, now, Josef, no need to be cranky."

"Cranky? I'll show you cranky. I'm turning into a popsicle in here and all you and Blondie-"

A crunch of metal accompanied a telltale crack as the side panel shattered under Mick's hands. "Sorry, buddy. That lid was not gonna budge. Need a hand?" Josef ignored Mick's proffered assistance and clambered out, rising and stretching, shedding ice crystals across the floor. "So, gonna ask Santa for a new freezer then?"

"I'll send you the bill." Josef turned and stalked toward the bedroom, reaching for a robe as he collided with a giggling Beth.

"Hmm. Mr. Frosty, indeed."

Oh, what fun! Someone had a great time thinking up that scenario.
Mr Frosty. If Josef was Mr Frosty, I was waiting for Beth to maybe comment on Little Frosty.

Now that was just delightful!

No deep, philosophical analyses of life but just a simple, awkward moment and a lot of humor.

We have enjoyed exploring the varied facets of Moonlight vampire existence but this light, funny scene was just a warm (pardon the pun), amusing moment.
