Hidden links and shortcuts

If you're posting "hidden" links, i.e. so a text description appears in your post (for example, like the link in my signature) or shortcuts, such as ow.ly, bit.ly, tinyurl etc. please make sure you mention the source of the article in your post so that members know what they are clicking on before they click the link.

If you post a link like this (as a random example )...

http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/vote/v ... y=&pollId=

...everyone can see what they're linking to.


However, if you get fancy and link like this...

Mysterious link that will take me who-knows-where

... then folks don't really know where they might end up.


Does that make sense?
