Jenna and maggatha3, thank you so much. I love drabbles. I should do more of them. It's a great exercise, to express a lot in such a restricted space. Drabbles are often like poems for me...

Saw this pop back to the top of Active Topics, it is so great to see excellent pieces like this return.

The first time I read this, I couldn't claim to have a preference. Both were superb, and that is still true--but at this moment, I like the second one.

The first sentence sums up the overall destructiveness of the relationship and then he moved into how she gained that power over him.

Very good, Alle! The first version gave me shivers reading it through. You put so much thought into that heartbeat of a pause before Mick said, "She was my wife." Very believable and very credible that he would have thought all those things.
