Since we don't have a general thread for Shannyn, I thought I'd go ahead and start one with this little tidbit...


Apparently she's going to co-star as herself (more or less) in her friend Mark Webber's independent film centering on his relationship with his 2-year-old son.

The movie (with a budget well below $1 million) centers on a struggling single father, an actor played by Webber, raising his two-year-old son after the death of the child’s mother. Because the story so closely mirrors Webber’s own life story, he is using his own two-and-a-half year old son to play the young boy in the film.

....The whole movie is designed to be a shade or two from real-life with Cera, Seyfried, Sossamon and Ritter, his true-life friends, playing versions of themselves. “I’m getting them to show a real side of who they are and smash that up with people’s expectations of celebrity.”

The chief endeavor right now is a new movie that's playing in France called Road to Nowhere. IMDB makes it sound like it came out here in 2010 but I don't remember hearing anything about it.

Jose Maria Yazpik And Shannyn Sossamon Topline Indie ‘The Jesuit’

which Paul Schrader wrote and which begins filming this month in Mexico. Alex Garcia, Santiago Garcia Galvan and Jose Martinez Jr from Argonautas Producciones are producers. Yazpik, who starred in Diego Luna’s Abel and just wrapped Pedro Almodovar’s Brief Lovers, plays a man nicknamed The Jesuit who has been imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit.

When his wife is killed and his son kidnapped and taken to Mexico, he devises a dangerous plan to rescue his son and avenge his wife’s death. Shannyn Sossamon will play the woman The Jesuit hires to masquerade as his wife on the quest.

The actress can be seen on the ABC series Mistresses and appears later this year in Mark Webber’s The End Of Love. Yazpik and Sossamon are repped by APA; Sossamon is additionally repped by Management Production Entertainment.
