Ah Jo... your original post actually cracked me up... you're adorable.
And yes, I think I (and PGal, cos she watched this sucker all the way thru long before I did... ) DO get some credit for being perfect fans. Cause it hurt. It actually hurt my eyes and ears. Especially toward the end, cause the lighting gets even more green than it had been earlier in the film, and Blond Chick's bad accent (and recall I am Southern) degrades over the course of the film, like she got tired doing it, or maybe they were in a hurry to wrap and couldn't afford any more do-overs.
And once Frasier is dead, there's just no bonus for watching... so it's painful painful painful... with ALL due respect to darling Jo... who must be in on some secret inside Aussie joke with this film....
And btw, I couldn't do an Aussie accent if you held a gun to my head... so at least Blond Chick tried Southern... and Alex did damn well. I'm sayin'.

I agree Grace. Alex's accent isn't bad at all. He is also the only one that doesn't routinely slip back into Aussie now and then.

And grace I was drawn in by sheriff Kyle's eyes.
When you could see 'em!
So that's why I watched to the last.
I do suspect it really was just for a bit of fun.
Obviously someone was a Manthing comics fan....... or not!

I believe Sheriff Kyle, who played the 5th lead in Feed, was doing a bit of Caruso with that shade action in the movie...AussieJo wrote:Yes, they were crocodile skulls, NA.NightAir wrote:I agree Grace. Thanks, NightAir....got it ...the easiest way to tell them apart (not that I'd get anywhere near either of them) is the shape of the snout and the visbility of teeth when those rather impressive jaws are closed!!!NightAir wrote:Here's a quick reference on the difference if you're interested.darkstarrising wrote:I never could tell the difference myselfNightAir wrote:I agree Grace. Yep... it's easy. Broad snout, alligator. Narrow snout, crocodile.

wpgrace wrote:... and then Jack Thompson, bald mystical guy and the 2 leads all end up at the oil rig with the Swamp Thing who kills Jack Thompson and then comes after everyone else... but Bald Mystical guy blows up the rig which also seems to kill the monster. The Sheriff from Feed and the Blond chick with the bad accent then kiss.
At this point the movie mercifully ends. Oy!
Grace, thank you for sparing me this eyeball singe. In return, I am sending your synopsis in to the DVD people so they can replace whatever drivel is currently oinking up the back cover of the DVD. I will consider it a public service announcement.
Now that I have the Cliff Notes, I'm not even sure I want to repeat his scenes (Tivo is calling to me). Though now I'm intrigued to go back and comparatively judge the accents, or lack thereof.

As alle has been lobbying for poor deputy Frazier to get at least one vote in the "Best non-Mick Look" poll, how could I not post this new review of Man Thing. I think it's about the best review Alex could hope to get from this mess.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/manthin ... man-thing/I kind of like stars Alex O'Loughlin and Rachael Taylor -- they do the best they can with their cardboard roles

You know, Alex is a credit to his training by NOT reverting back to his Aussie accent.
I guess the reviewers weren't aware of the skill it takes to play a Southerner.
(I am one.....so I know how badly it can be done)
