It helps my tired brain cells--they need the exercise!
I understand your points completely. It just amazes me how much CBS still promotes their big-time shows. Granted, I haven't watched CBS in a long time, but when ML was airing, it astounded me how often they ran ads for CSI, etc. Those shows garner huge numbers, and they advertise the hell out of them still. I realize that the advertising budgets are bigger for those shows, but they constantly air ads for them, and those are thetr top-rated shows.
We have seen it time and time again, eventually, their formula will falter. Every so many years, another network takes the lead for a while. It switches back and forth. I just want them to remain successful as long as Alex is on their network. And I hope that the treatment he receives this time around is much better than before.
Lisa, you are right they do promote some of the shows, but look at the directors, and yes Jerry B can do no wrong. This last week, I have watched CBS more than ever, the Mentalist got the most advertising, and for the best new show. Why didn't Moonlight, get that, hey they won the best new show for the Peoples Choice. Because the Mentalist fell into CBS's shows, and I really believe, Joel could do wrong. Budgets for shows, yes, but the more we know, Moonlight's budget was bigger than what we thought. I do believe this, if CBS, wants Alex to go far, he will, and fans of Moonlight be damn (do I sound Shakespearean). I also believe TV will change, and CBS is king for know, and that will change, but right now the other stations need to come up with some heavy hitters to change CBS's path.
Lisa, I hope you are okay with this sparing, just let me know if I offend you in any way.
