Jurgen Prochnow is in it too! I had a serious crush on that man! He was in Das Boot. (the boat) A fabulous and tragic movie in which he was delish in. I originally saw it in the cinema when it came out in the 80's, and recently rewatched it. I recommend it highly. Keep your eyes out for the scenes with the crew. Lot's of eye candy, ladies.

I've seen Das Boot too. I even was in the set one time, during a visit in Munich. They rebuilt the submarine on a set and to walk through it was eery and frightening and claustrophobic, even knowing you weren't really under water and there were windows for cameras to peek through. It was loud, too, every step hollered on the metal steps.

Oh my francis, I just bet it was eerie! Now I've redicovered this movie, I'll be watching it more often. It's a heartbreaking tale of the cost of war on humanity.
