If you muse ever was so inclined, I'd love to read a good story about Mick and Beth in New York, doing something quintessentially New York Catching a set at the Village Vanguard, a steak for the lady (well, surely not a stake for the lady).

Yes, MLC, that is how it should have been, Mick knocking on the door a few minutes later after she had cleared up everything with Josh. It would have been high time.. And then, she would not have abandoned him in the middle of the night in New York, making me soooo mad, stupid woman!

The way you wrote it ,seemed to easy, civilized even, for both of them..It would not even have hurt the scenario a lot.. Plus, you could give us a short story of their New York adventure!

Yes, there certainly could have been a civil breakup between Beth and Josh. (I've also written some yelling and screaming breakup scenes between them. )

I'm so glad that Beth was honest with Josh. Now that she has that weight off her shoulders, she will be able to enjoy a date with Mick in New York!

I like how Mick overheard, but did not interrupt, this conversation. I've often wondered if, in the show, he wasn't ready to hear Beth's answer (hence the conveniently-timed knocking ).

I'm glad this popped up. I love this story--the scenario really works for me, and it's so well done, it feels like a scene in the show.

By the way, I've always been somewhat blown away at Beth's clothes in that scene.



That's some traveling attire, huh?! She looked smokin' hot. That is by far the sexiest casual outfit she wore on the whole show, in my opinion. If I'd been Josh, I'd have had a thing or two to say about what she was wearing in order to go to New York for "just a case"...

This 'What if' is such a lovely re-read and so much better than the scene we got...more fair to Josh and they wouldn't have to kill him either! Plus, they would have gone with so much different attitude to New York and maybe have that special night there ..that they didn't..Oh, well, now that I am thinking about it, this gives you the chance of giving it to us now, MLC!!!
