Josef was hosting the monthly poker game.

“Papa needs a new car.” Tom Rodriguez said.

Fred Johnson laughed. “Don’t you mean a new Couture Wardrobe?

“Now wait a minute, you need to repair over fifty grand in jewelry.”

“No way.” Fred insisted. “Your dinner started it and those clothes cost me a fortune.

“This is why I drink from a bag.” Mick sighed.

Josef rolled his eyes. “Gentleman, my meals cost more than the three of you put together. He glanced at his cards. Five thousand.”

Tom paused. “You’re bluffing.”

“No, I’m not. I have ten exclusives, you have four, Fred has three and Mick’s meals don’t even cost half a freshie.”

“Hey, at least I don’t have to replace Dior or Harry Winston.” Mick smiled.

Josef shook his head. “Oh yeah, that’s the reason for your poor diet, you were losing money on repairs at Midnight Snack.”

“That only happened one time.” Mick growled.

“Very true, unlike these two who waste almost a hundred grand every quarter on bad seeds.

“My girls are not bad seeds” Fred insisted. “They’re no worse than yours.”

Josef raised his eyebrow. “In my house there is no question that I’m the lion and they are the lambs.”

“How many lambs have you laid down with Kostan?” Tom said sarcastically

“A gentleman never tells that’s why I know you’ve been with three out of four.

Tom let his eyes silver. “I’ll see your five and raise you ten.

“I’m out.” Mick said.

Josef sipped his scotch. “Call.”

Tom grinned. “Full house. Fives and eights. He went to reach for the pot.

“Just a minute. I have four lovely ladies. He showed four Queens.

Mick smiled. “Why am I not surprised?”

“Let’s take a break gentleman. Refreshments are waiting in the lounge.”

Mick poured a glass a A positive and whispered to Josef “Lambs??? I think your girls are lions.

“They are Queen of the Jungle among humans but around me….

“Josef’s little lambs??? Mick quipped.

“I’m telling them you said that. Josef warned. “Tangie and Solita will be plotting their revenge. I pity you.

“Hey, can’t the lion protect me?

“Can…..definitely. Will…..unlikely. The girls need to sharpen their claws.”

OMG, Mick is in sooooo much trouble. He's right, though... Josef's "lambs" are anybody else's lionesses. Rawr!

I'm so sorry I never responded to these comments. I agree with Lucky the freshies are impeccably behaved at all times....except when Josef tells them not to be....so I guess that still makes them impeccably behaved. Mick is in a lot of trouble. I pity him.
