I'm working my way through the show again (courtesy of Amazon Prime) and just finished the episode where Logan one-ups his father and pays a tremendous price for it. The emotions on Logan's face as he chooses, then handles the belt, knowing what's coming. Awesome.

First time I saw it, that scene just broke me. It still makes me...angry, tearful, a whole mix of emotions. I wanted to jump through the screen and just stop what was about to happen.darkstarrising wrote:I'm working my way through the show again (courtesy of Amazon Prime) and just finished the episode where Logan one-ups his father and pays a tremendous price for it. Re: Veronica Mars - The Movie
Marshmallows have been busy today!
The current standings at the MTV Movie Brawl: Veronica Mars 72% / The Maze Runner 28%
This is quite a turnabout after those numbers were virtually reversed at this time last night. There is still 1 day, 13 1/3 hours left in this round, so anything could happen, but this was very nice to see.

I was very surprised that we are currently so far ahead. Looking at the cast for the Maze Runner, it stars Dylan O'Brien who is one of the leads in MTV's own series "Teen Wolf". And from what I've seen, TW has a pretty passionate fandom itself.

I notice The gap is narrowing. I stopped by last night to cast a few (dozen) votes, and it was something like 77/23, VM. Now, it's dropped to 64/36. Which is still a big margin, but the Marshmallows had better stay on their toes.

Re: Veronica Mars - The Movie
Had a thought as I was working my way through Season 1. There's an episode where Weevil and Logan are in detention (The Girl Next Door) and do everything possible to annoy the school administration. One line by the principal? Van Clemmons got my attention - when Weevil seems amused by something Logan says. Van Clemmons response was along the lines of 'I wonder if you'll find that funny in 10 years when you're pumping his (Logan's) gas.'
Well, by the time the movie comes out it will be about 10 years, so I wonder if there's any reference to this, assuming Weevil isn't pumping gas.

Ooh, and that is just the kind of thing I'm expecting them to throw in - a little nod to the old fans, but a throwaway line that wouldn't confuse newbies.

That is a great interview, and I love the pic at the top.
ETA: VM is in the Movie Brawl finals. Dead even at the moment, so drop by and vote. After all, Jason would appreciate it.

Re: Veronica Mars - The Movie
AMC has released a list of the theaters that will be showing Veronica Mars:
https://www.amctheatres.com/movie-news/ ... nced-today
Unfortunately, it's only going to be opening in major cities. The closest for me is going to be NYC or northern NJ -- about 2 1/2 hours away.
