I can just see Mick sitting on Beth's porch, making fanged faces at the little kids and telling them how great they look in their costumes. 
And then he gets all scary at the rude teens. I like scary Mick.

I can't believe it's been 15 years since I read this! 
Well, I loved it the first time and still love it now!
I adore seeing Mick and Beth so comfortable with each other and Mick so comfortable in his own skin. Especially since it doesn't sparkle.
