I've not seen a part yet that bored me or made my mind wander while watching. Granted, The Shield wasn't my fave thing since I felt he wasn't in it a whole lot, but I still REALLY enjoyed seeing him.

It will be wierd at first to see him as not-Mick, but I know he'll put his all into playing Dr. Andy and we'll have yet another great character to discuss and obsess over, along with Mick/Will/Kevin/Marcus/Michael/Jack/Others.

About 20 years ago I saw this show about a group of rogue cops who were biker-dude types--you know, cops who bend the rules but who get the bad guys in the end. I don't remember what it was called, but there was this character named Chick who had shoulder-length brown hair who was the Head of the Dudes.

After about half an episode of watching this guy, I said to hubby, "that guy is gonna be a star." The show tanked after just a couple more episodes--this one guy got me to watch, even though the script was cheesy--but I always remembered the actor's name.

George Clooney.

Remember, everyone, George Clooney was in something like six TV series that never made it before he did ER. I can't find the facts to back this up, but you'll have to take my word for it.

Alex is going to be a star. I hope it's in this new pilot. But if not, it will be something else. Cream always rises to the top.

yep I agree it will be weird watching Alex On a series that isn't Moonlight and he won't be Mick St John,Maybe thats why CBS is putting him on CM first so we can take that leap a little easier,Does that make any sense? But like some others I have confidence that Alex choose the part that he felt he could do justice to,Just my

"Those in the know", of whom I am most definitely not one, seem to think that exteriors will be shot in Pittsburgh but all the main action will be filmed at Paramount.

This makes me wonder if they'll be doing more than just exteriors in Pittsburgh..why would they send out a casting call if they were only doing exteriors?

I'm either going to cry or throwup I haven't decided yet. I have 2 all time favorite actors: Alex O'Loughlin and Jeremy Northam. I've loved Jeremy for years. He has been cast as the lead in Miami Trauma! He has starred in The Net, Enigma, Emma, Happy Texas, The Winslow Boy, etc..
Is there a reason why CBS can't pick up both show? kays

I guess there's no reason they can't pick up two medical dramas, unless they think it will be dividing a fanbase by doing so. Lord knows there are plenty of crime dramas. You'd think there would be room for 2 med dramas on the same network.

If this show is being told from 3 points of view, do you think it will be sort of like Law & Order, where first you get the crime and the cops and the second half hour is mostly the lawyers?

I'm not sure the single camera shooting style really makes that much difference in how the story is viewed on screen. It just means that one angle is shot at a time instead of setting up two or more cameras and then intercutting the footage later in editing. According to Wikipedia, the following were or are all shot using single camera: Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2006), Scrubs (2001–), Arrested Development (2003–2006), The Office (2005–), My Name is Earl (2005–), Weeds (2005–) and 30 Rock (2006–). It also mentioned that MASH for example was shot with single camera and that single camera is prevelant in prime time dramas. The series 24 is also shot single camera.

Also from Wikipedia:

In single-camera, if a scene cuts back and forth between actor A and actor B, the director will first point the camera towards A and shoot shots number 1, 3, 5, 7, and so on. Then they will point the camera toward B and do shots number 2, 4, 6, 8, and so on. In the post-production editing process, the shots will be assembled into their final order. In contrast, multiple-camera shooting would record a variety of angles of actors A and B simultaneously; the director would then have the choice of switching among the angles while the program is being recorded (or broadcast) or cutting them together in post-production. Further, single-camera productions tend to cluster the shooting of all the scenes that utilize a certain set and cast, while most multiple-camera productions are shot "in sequence"—the shooting progressing chronologically through the script.
