Re: CBS pilot: Three Rivers -- Is Alex on board?
Well I didn't think it was all that bad... Nina got a lot of publicity (often from us--or at least one cohort of us-- generating it) about it not being about just Alex/ it was all just about Alex... so they're being snarky about that.
Nina clearly really likes our Alex, which is a good thing, but her comments, as well as this one, do put pressure on him. Not his fault. But the ML fans, as well as Nina, made it about this. The crazies and Nina have links that neither side probably wishes to acknowledge, huh?
Hopefully he will do well in CM... that will shut some of these folks up. And TR will either be picked up or not... if it is... hoping against hope it will be successful.

Re: CBS pilot: Three Rivers -- Is Alex on board?
I am trying really hard to stay positive. The show sounds so promising with some big names as writer/producer.
And of course, Alex wouldn't have chosen it if it were not a good drama. I guess after the heartbreak last May, when everything was pointing toward a second season, one needs to be cautious.
Like they say (in Greece, at least) "if you get burned eating soup, you will blow even on yogurt"
Well, it loses in translation but the bottom line is I am staying "cautiously very optimistic"

I actually "get" your Greek saying, DC... and I kinda agree with it... fearing more heartbreak... and more Alex drought... trying realllly hard to ONLY concentrate on the marvelous pics and photo collages supplied by my lovely enablers here...

Fleur, but I think we need our own little private social club this time, some reason people just don't like us.Fleur de Lisa wrote:....and then TR will have a host of fringe fanatics!!

LOL!!! I was referring more to those who are reallllllly over the edge--the ones who can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea that Alex is an actor and is not Mick St. John! As much as we all adored Mick, that ship has sailed and we just need to throw our support behind the actor and hope that he is gainfully and successfully employed.nayp wrote:Fleur, but I think we need our own little private social club this time, some reason people just don't like us.Fleur de Lisa wrote:....and then TR will have a host of fringe fanatics!!

I was just listening to the interview Alex gave to Ed from Vampires&Slayers. Really nice conversation when he talks, among other things, about what kind of characters inspire him.
He also says at some point that "CBS's motivation is to get me back on TV and that's cool"

More casting news from THR:

Julia Ormond sails on CBS' "Three Rivers'
In the latest round of pilot castings, Julia Ormond has been tapped as a lead on CBS' drama pilot "Three Rivers"; Jeffrey Tambor is set to co-star on ABC's comedy "The Bridget Show"; Matthew Davis has landed the male lead on ABC's drama "Limelight"; Gabrielle Union, Brian Austin Green, Jay Hernandez and Jenny Wade are set as leads on the CW's drama "Body Politic"; and Majandra Delfino has landed the third lead on ABC's comedy pilot "Pulling."

Don't know her... but she is apparently one of the network's own, huh?
So if they're still casting, they must not be filming yet?

Here's her imdb page: Julia Ormond
I'd say she's probably best known for Legends of the Fall and First Knight, but she was also in a wonderful BBC film many years ago with Tim Roth, Captives, which remains an all-time favourite. I've seen her on stage, too, and she was very, very good.

Re: CBS pilot: Three Rivers -- Is Alex on board?
Hmmm... she doesn't LOOK like a hospital administrator... she's really beautiful!
Tho she does look a little like the hospital admin on House...
And I feel like I've seen her in something... but i cannot place what it might have been...
Anyway, this show is going for gorgeous people apparently. Not complaining... hoping that will help with the pick up ....
Thanks, Red!!!

Julia Ormond--is she the actress who was in that re-make of a classic film, the name escapes me, with Harrison Ford and Greg Kinnear? And was she in Chocolat as well?
