He left a trail of kisses across her. "Wait here." And he was gone, into the bathroom, running water, steam billowing into the chill air. He scooped her up in his arms, delighting in her excited rumble. Through to the bathroom, the glow of candlelight jarringly beautiful in the early morning haze. Holding her against his chest he stepped into the bath, and settled them into the steaming water.
"I've wanted to do this for a very long time," he murmured into her.
"Isn't it too hot for you?"
She felt his smile against her shoulder, "I'm getting used to heat." He teased her neck with his tongue turning her away from him, stroking down her spine. Pouring from a sweetly-scented bottle onto her skin, relishing her gasp and wince from the cold, his massaging fingers worked across her as she moved against him, matching his rhythm.
"That feels lovely."
He pressed close, his hum tickling her skin. She leaned back, pulling his arms around her waist, her head tilted against his jaw, his lips caressing her temple.
"I love Sundays," she smiled. "We can stay here all day."
He laughed, tightening his hold, "Well maybe not all day."
Stroking his arms, revelling in the feel of his now-warm body resting gently beneath her. "I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be." She turned, a slosh of water extinguishing a too-close candle, "And I love that you have a bathtub big enough for two."
Mick teased her hair back from her face, "Mmm, yes, it does have... advantages," pulling her in, smiling his kiss. She moved against him, gently pressing her thumb to his chin, opening his mouth to her, as she curled her knees around him.
She rocked gently, unhurried, savouring the feel of him inside her, his warmth surrounding her, his fingers stroking though her hair.
The soft lapping of water against skin, his sigh of pleasure, the gentle thrum of her heartbeat, these were the sounds of their love, made in a golden, summer morning.

Every once in a while, a phrase just works. Wish I could work out how to make it happen more often, but delighted you liked this one.

Oh Red, you are far too humble. I profess that you manage to ease out at least one resonant line in pretty much everything you write... at least one. You just have that gift... or perhaps you stay up nights working em out, I dunno how easily they REALLY come. But they seem to just slip out of your brain and smoothe themselves into the fabric of your pieces. And I sigh with every one of them. Those little lines are one of the great pleasures of a Redwinter fic.

Thanks, Grace. Sometimes they do just "appear" - and then some phrases (usually the tiny ones that just won't behave...) take hours, literally hours, to get just the way I want.
Sigh.
Sometimes, this stuff drives me insane(r) but I just can't stop...

Yeah, this is why I can't be a writer... it takes me 10 minutes to dash out a simple commenting post... being that I have to go back and correct all the typos if I have any hope of y'all actually being able to read the stuff... If I really worried too much about actual language... well I'd get a one-shot posted after a week or so of steady typing...
Plus those lovely phrases just never appear to me... even if I sit and ponder for hours... which I'm not likely to do, cause the constant intrusions of "MMMMMO-O-O-O-O-O-OMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!" just jerk me out of every attempted reverie...
But so grateful YOU are willing to take a sanity-bullet for us Red. And that the Muse of Beautifully Wrought Phrases pays you such frequent visits.

LOL, alle. I confess, this is one of my favourites. The enjoyment of simple pleasures and intimacies is a wondrous thing.

As always, red, you say so much with so little. And your narrative is so visual.
I can see them gently rocking in that tub. Sigh.
