Oh good Bob... I SUCK at waiting!

I wanna know about the show NOW... and not just that I wanna know... I want it to be good news...

So, yeah, it's killing me. Cause Sister is right... it's not just waiting but also worrying... But we got no choice right?

I don't mean that as a rhetorical question... do we have some other choice?????

I think that TR will be picked up and not because of wishful thinking.
Moonlight was picked up in 2007 despite the fact that the pilot had to be reshot becuase Alex, still new at the time, was so captivating.
Moving to 2009, CBS kept him for a year and gave him a choice of projects. They really want him back! Unless TR is really bad (and can't be, the man has great taste), the forecast is very promising!
How is my attempt at a rational, scientific analysis?

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09091/959596-67.stm

"Leslie Moonves now heads CBS Corp. but played a major role at Warner Bros. in developing "ER" into something more affecting than the old Michael Crichton script no network wanted.

NBC execs Warren Littlefield and Don Ohlmeyer were wary of audience testing the studio provided, showing "ER" to be off-the-charts popular. Moonves' team grumbled but retested the show before NBC would buy the results and the series."

If Les Moonves was behind ER's success, maybe he could back TR as the new ER, and since there are sources saying that he REALLY wants Alex on screen, putting the two together ... :bulb:

Sorry, the long Alex drought drives me to this kind of crazy speculation.
Interesting. I had no idea that Mooves had a hand in ER's success either. He sure hasn't had much luck to date in creating a successful Medical drama at CBS though. I don't think they've had a winner since Chicago Hope and that debuted 15 years ago. I just wish CBS didn't have a possible 2 other med dramas to choose from. I think TR sounds the most promising from a story possibility standpoint, but who knows, right? It might come down to budget and cost. :confused2:
Hmmm... maybe that's why both Alex and Broha are all bundled up in the lunch tent... saving heating costs....

And I think Miami Trauma sounds like a copy of ER, personally... it's an ensemble drama about an ER, right? Which is worrisome if Les is the one who championed ER in the first place... :sigh:

So, as before, we will just have to wait it out... dammit.
I've been re-reading that article several times. Isn't it saying medical shows don't come cheap? That there might not be one at all? :witsend:

I LIKE your thinking, darlingcat. I think the PTB want to have him onscreen. Anyone know who is supposed to be staring in Miami Trauma? Not that it could be anyone we'd want to see more than Alex - just curious.

GA, according to thr.com, the cast includes Lana Parrilla, Elisabeth Harnois, Jeremy Northam and Richard Coyle.

Now while I want the Brits to do well (and I adore JN AND RC), I know where my heart lies if it comes down to a straight choice between the two shows...

Unless CBS decides to pick up both. Stranger things have happened.

The networks are really loading up their pilots with foreign actors this year, aren't they? To save costs, maybe? Not sure.

This article didn't mention Alex. :banghead: Dunno why but he often seems under the radar with one of Hollywood's most credible sources. TPTBs like TV/film producers read these trade magazines like THR and Variety so it'd be helpful if Alex's agent can get his name in there more often. It mentioned Jeremy Northam.

That article was mostly about foreign actors who really haven't done American TV as of yet. The only exception I spotted was Miranda Otto who was in Cashmere Mafia last year (and who can blame the author for missing that one!). The article didn't mention ANY of the cast of TR. If you recall, Julia Ormond is a Brit, Joaquim de Almeida is from Portugal, and neither was mentioned either. Besides, if you read some of the nasty comments to the article, I'm actually happy that Alex and TR didn't get mentioned at all.

Thanks, Red. I DO like Jeremy Northam - quite a bit. I don't know who the other people are. Still no competition though.
