Re: Alex Eyes "Back-up Plan"
After that wonderful segue by Fleur, I have to wonder about the whirlwind of appearances that Alex will make on the various talk shows to promote either BUP or TR, should it be picked up...
With BUP or any other movie he'll appear in, it's a short term commitment. "Hi, I've just made a wonderful movie with (fill in the blank). It's a story about (fill in the another blank). We had a lot of fun making it. Please go see it." It's a standard pitch.
With TR, he'll be promoting something that will be a much longer term commitment. A series, one that will, if he wants it to, last for more than one season. If past experience is any indicator, one that he'll pour his heart and soul into.
What I'm wondering is as he moves forward, how does he deal with the history of Mick St. John and Moonlight as he encourages his fans to embrace his new character and show?

Re: Alex Eyes "Back-up Plan"
I have to laugh with all the abbreviations. I had to think about what TR was for a couple of minutes. When my company comes up with a new tv show we come up with our own abbreviations right away for filing purposes, sometimes it's letters from each word like Three Rivers and sometimes we pick one word from the title. Then there are times when we don't agree then we try both and whatever sticks wins.

You ladies are naughty, fun, and confusing at the same time!
LOL
I hope TR happens in the Fall because honestly, even if everything works out exactly the way we wish it to, it will still be MONTHS before we see anything; a looooong summer (or winter for our Aussie friends.)
And Cassy, believe it or not, TR has become the abbreviation for Three Rivers on all the ML sites already. Now, WO and BUP; that is new and unique to our lovely members here.

I mentioned BUP so I am on topic!

Actually I'm also looking forward to BUP aside from Alex, I kind of like to see J-LO in movies. Don't throw
my co-worker will tomorrow. She's from the Bronx and hates, hates, hates J-LO

By that, do you mean creating their own language?
Cause I think puts up in the Trekkies' realm... tho hardly in their venerable league... not yet anyway...

Tho, of course, all they had was Shatner and Nimoy... Lookey what WE got!!!

(And Fleur... we gotta get AOL on the Daily Show... he'd be a HOOT with John Stewart! I'd be afraid for him with Colbert... )

Grateful to Alex for Mick, Andy, and McG.

Re: Alex Eyes "Back-up Plan"
Couldn't you just see JS fawning over A'Ol's good looks and Aussie accent? And Alex's wit and personality would fit in perfectly in that venue.

I would LOVE to see that... he'd tower over John... but they would be funny together. Let us hope, maybe he and JLo will get invited or something...
'Course, I'd take him on any talk show... I don't watch any of them... but for him I would. Hopefully you girls will tell me if he gets scheduled, OK???

Further speculation at this point is...pointless. We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for the best.

This is my attitude Lucky... it sounds great; but it DOES have to actually get made first... and we'll all see... and he will blog when he blogs... tho whenever he DOES want to blog, I am all over that... and SO in his corner.
But we're all so eager for him... the speculation and wishes and dreams for him are all meant in good humor and with his best in mind... we're a devoted group... if sometimes overly distracted by details...I think ya gotta love us for that...
I could develop a film for AOL....

Each city still has a phone book. He'd shoot reading the phone book for each city and when you needed a number-you put the dvd in your tv and watch until they got to the number you need.
My Mom always said that about Charlton Heston when I was little....NOW I understand her rationale.

Or James Mason, or James Earl Jones...or Peter O'Toole, or Sean Connery...cassysj wrote:Lucy wrote: I could develop a film for AOL....![]()

In my house it was Sidney Poitier reading the phonebook. I completely get the rationale. Although I do have to adjust to Alex's normal speaking voice for phone book listening.

Re: Alex Eyes "Back-up Plan"
Mine, too grace.
Jon Stewart is the only talk show I regularly watch, though I could see Alex promoting on Ellen or the View.
Oh, let me amend that, I do watch the View most days while working out. Put it on mute and read the close captioning with the Ipod in. I multi-task, what can I say.
I could SO see him sitting on that couch getting fawned over.
