Okay. No deodorant. No brushing of the teeth. So I think I'll stick to watching him at the movies. And yes, I too love Matthew's genuine "I don't give a s*@t" attitude!

No, he does brush his teeth several times a day. I guess all that minty freshness is supposed to off-set the stinky pits. (and I adore that attitude, too.)

Anyway, I think that Alex could definitely tap into the M McC. marketable movies--only I hope with much better range. I would hate to see him typecast in only romcoms, which I think has been Stinky's, I mean, Matthew's problem.

I read in a Simon Baker interview that he did a while back that he doesn't use deoderant either,He said if you drink enough water you don't have to. I Don't know,personally I don't get it????

Didn't he get (Matthew M)a people sexiest man one year? I'm thinking he did,I mean the man is eye candy but I agree our Alex can out act Matthew any day of the week!

I will repeat myself: he was awesome in A Time To Kill. That put him on my radar. Unfortunately, I think his looks got in the way of a more serious career.

At least Alex has some dramatic roles already under his belt--he has done such a variety of things, and I hope that BUP is just the start of him continuing on in that way.

Alex stated very clearly that he wants to do a variety of roles and that he has done so far. If he gets to be that Dr. Andy,and a vampire, and a serial killer, and a smart a$$ in Whiteout, and THEN the BUP, he will have done enough variety for his new public that hopefully he doesn't get typecast as only rom com material.

Of course, I am excluding his previous stuff for now. Of course, we love a romantic Alex.

On topic: I have to believe that if Alex read the BUP script and it didn't sound very good, he'd turn it down. I'm hopeful about it.

Do you think they're going to have good chemistry betwen them? it's not all about looks but from the movies i've seen with her she had good chemistry with Clooney, Sean Penn and Josh Lucas, not much with Michael Vartan or Ralph Fiennes.

They even look good together in side-by-side pics. I can't wait for actual on-screen chemistry. Both can bring that sizzle!

I'm gonna go with YES, they do!!! because J Lo sorta looks like Coraline (as in Shannyn Sossamon's Coraline, anyone remembers her? ) and Mick-Cora look hot together.

I guess I favor raven-haired beauties over blondes.. Shannyn, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie and me are hot.

I thought her and Matthew Mc Condoesn'tuseanydeodorant had good chemistry in their movie together. He has a bit of that Alex vibe, laid back and gorgeous--with a fun personality. And his acting chops were fabulous in A TIme To Kill---not so much lately--he seems to do one romcom after another.

Yup, they're both laid back and hung loose type of guys...

What an interesting conversation. I think Alex and J Lo will have good chemistry. I think a lot of it is personality. Both Michael Vartan and Ralph Fiennes disappear into the background and after seeing La Lopez in the recent YT clip on Regis (or whatever it's called), I'd say she needs a co star who can match her personality. Alex can hold his own against anyone (stop it. I didn't mean THAT ) and I bet they'll have oodles of spark between them. And I love that she's a 'real' woman , although admittedly a gorgeous real woman. I'm feeling better every day about this movie with them together.

On the typecasting issue; I'm sure that won't happen to Alex. He won't let it happen. It seems to me that Matthew McConaughey is so laidback he prefers to play on a beach with a frisbee rather than concentrate on his career. He seems to act merely to make a living and probably doesn't have the drive to succeed like Alex does. I bet Alex is just getting himself noticed in mainstream TV and film, and then he'll be able to pick and choose his roles based on personal preference. Of course, that's JMO and I may be off base, but I just can't see him settling for an easy rom com career. I think he'll be more like Hugh Jackman who can do it all; rom com, action, drama, blockbuster and arthouse cinema. Obviously, I mean if he gets to be successful he gets the choice. Unfortunately many actors end up just taking what they can get. Hopefully that won't be where Alex ends up.

Oh, and on the issue of Australian men and personal hygiene. Take it from me, we are like Americans and the norm is to shower daily and use deodorant/anti-perspirant. If a man is 'smelly' trust me it gets noticed by men and women alike.

Of course she's not discussed here because this forum is about Alex's new projects and therefore unrelated to the ML characters.
