Soooo... on my second dozenth view of the promo I finally noticed someone OTHER than Alex is in it... and the BAU guy says, I think, "The filming of his kills makes him a sexual psychopath."

So, if he were killing but NOT filming... he's not screwed up? That's.... normal???? Or it's just some different kind of psychopath?

That line did not make sense to me...

ETA: Just had a thought..if Vincent videotapes his kills, do you think that's why he "needs to change his glasses?" That the camera is embedded in a pair of glasses?? hmmmm???

He may very well have a camera in his glasses but I think that was simply said because now his face is out there with those distinctive glasses and makes him too recognizable. He needs to change his look.

Prediction: Alice is dead meat and after, Vincent wants to stop because he liked Alice. After killing her, he seeks help to stop.

So after a few dozen viewings of the promo, ( Lilly ) my detective powers of observation think Alex is making that clicking noise with his tongue whereas in Moonlight he gnashed his teeth, so it's a different sound. What d'ya think guys? Either way Criminal Minds is gonna rock next Wednesday

Thank you for the screencap, Lynn, and for the inversion, SirenSong. Look at how tense he is, how he is lying there fully clothed with his fists balled over his stomach, as if he needs to keep himself from doing something.

As to the speculation about his filming, when he is doing this creepy smile in the end, he is watching a woman's photo (look at the reflection in his glasses), so maybe he is reliving his killing of the blonde woman and likes what he sees. Creepy? You tell me!

And, francis--that's what I thought--the way he's looking at the screen with that evil smirk--and the reflection in his glasses--looks to me like he is re-living and enjoying his work.

The psychopath is defined by a psychological gratification he receives in his criminal, sexual, or aggressive impulses and the inability to learn from his past mistakes.

The "sexual" was just thrown in by the BAU to define what category of psychopath Vincent really fits in for the audience to better understand.

And I think he tapes the murders as thats how he, as a sexual psychopath, can go back and relive the experience. The problem is that with each viewing, the tapes become less and less satisfying, thus he kills more and more, usually culminating in him getting caught. He would also most likely become more violent and less careful with each kill. Sort of spazzing out and being more violent/crazy with his control slipping away with each episodic break.

For Vincent to be reaching out to the BAU for help says a lot. Its very rare. This type of killer rarely communicates with the press or law enforcement. Unlike those killers that seek self-gratification and recognition, Vincent's type never does. They cannot control their impulses to kill, and they perceive this as a weakness and don't won't anyone to know about it. There's enough conciousness left in Vincent for him to want to stop. He knows he can't do it himself, that someone will have to stop him. His type, if caught alive, often say in interviews that they were tormented and really didn't want to kill, but they somehow can't stop themselves.

Sorry the the Psycho 101 lesson, but believe me I have no degrees or any higher level of education on this stuff. Mine, unfortunately, comes from on the job experience.
