Totally understandable Susan. It's precious cargo.VAsusieQ18 wrote:Okay, got home and the package had arrived, very nicely packaged. I was so excited! I opened it up and saw how carefully Alex had wrapped the print. Then, all of a sudden I got really, really scared. I'm afraid to unroll it. Worried I might not be able to get it back in the tube without bending it or worse! So I'm debating leaving it in the tube until I can take it to the framers to get it framed. What do you guys think? Am I being OCD or just being careful?
Susie -- if you've had trouble in the past with posters and tubes, then I'd say wait -- just for your own peace of mind. But I think it's printed on pretty heavy stock and should hold up just fine to unrolling and re-rolling.VAsusieQ18 wrote:Okay, got home and the package had arrived, very nicely packaged. I'm wondering about the matting and frame myself. I've never had anything framed before. I have a friend who's an artist who is going to do it for me.VAsusieQ18 wrote:I think I'm going to take Lilly's advice and keep it nice and safe in its tube!I'm off from work tomorrow, so I'll take it by the framers and get her all fixed up. Now for the next question...Any thoughts on the matting and frame itself? And ideas what would really set it off and make it pop?
And thanks, coco, for the banner comment. Yes, sirensong is awesome when it comes to graphics. But then when you have such a beautiful subject to work with, its hard to mess it up!
Typically, posters are not matted.cassysj wrote: I'm wondering about the matting and frame myself. I've never had anything framed before. I have a friend who's an artist who is going to do it for me.
