I'm with you, Amy. I don't have any nails left and upfronts are a month away! And to think, a year ago I didn't even know what an "upfront" was!I think we should all join hands and pray real, real hard (or at least dance a little! LOL)

Wow! The press completely dropped Julia Ormond's name lately, didn't they? This one and the other blurb from THR with 3R topping the list in the murky waters.
Yay, Alex!!!

I am so with ya Amy... tho foregoing the Tums in favor of wine. And I'd LIKE to feel optimistic about 3R... but I'm ascaired...amyvil wrote:Geesh, 26 days until we hear about TR and I'm already heavy into the Tums. Of course, we have delish Alex in his creepy turn as Vincent to look forward to next week but then it's going to be serious nail biting time. Feels like deja vu all over again.
I'm really, really getting my hopes up about TR getting picked up, what with Nikki Finke (who was the first one last year to break the bad news about Moonlight being cancelled or at least the first one I read) and The Hollywood Reporter both reporting good things about its chances.

But I'll hold hands and dance a little...

Grateful to Alex for Mick, Andy, and McG.

Deja vu is right! But guys, this time it is going to go OUR way!
Imagine what Alex is feeling now! I am so glad I am not an actress--I like steady income myself!
Mandy ---you are beginning to sound as optimistic as the rest of us---watch it!
Seriously though, I don't want to be devastated like last year---it just CAN NOT HAPPEN!

Now that there's progress on the SAG agreement, do you suppose she'll go back to movies?Overdamoon wrote:Wow! The press completely dropped Julia Ormond's name lately, didn't they? This one and the other blurb from THR with 3R topping the list in the murky waters.

I think that she was dipping her toe in TV even before the SAG issues - with whichever CSI she was in (sorry I'm not up to speed on them). I'm sure she'll be looking for movie roles if they are on offer but I read a recent interview and she seemed happy working on a variety of projects.r1015bill wrote:Now that there's progress on the SAG agreement, do you suppose she'll go back to movies?Overdamoon wrote:Wow! Shows how little I know....didn't realize she had done a CSI...I checked with IMDB and she was apparently in a recurring role in CSI NY over three episodes.redwinter101 wrote:I think that she was dipping her toe in TV even before the SAG issues - with whichever CSI she was in (sorry I'm not up to speed on them). Julia is/was on CSI: NY. Her role was very small and I don't think she's been on but 2 or 3 episodes. Not a major character at all. And if I'm being brutally honest, she's really started to show her age. Not slamming her at all. She's a beautiful woman, but I bring it up only because I would imagine the bias that Hollywood has against age is the reason she's diversifying her acting portfolio. She's not going to get roles like she did when she was younger. So her interest in Three Rivers is understandable. Its a leading, mature role in a drama that could very well showcase her acting chops. I wish her well. She's got a natural way about her that seems to "invite" people into whatever character she may be playing. I'm sure she and Alex will have great chemistry together. How they chose to use that chemistry remains to be seen. As work colleagues or lovers or both? Interesting dilemna for her to be in at this stage in her career.

sigh....truly a depressing notion to be thought 'over the hill' at 44. How shallow have we become?

DS, women over 30 are considered "old" in Hollywood.
But its nice to see that so many famous actresses are hitting 40 in recent years, and the press seems to be celebrating their age. 'Bout time! But Hollywood, well not so much. They still favor youth and beauty over experience and maturity.

And then, there are the Susan Lucci's of the world who refuse to age, bless her heart. Ya just gotta love the ever-gorgeous her...VAsusieQ18 wrote:DS, women over 30 are considered "old" in Hollywood. But its nice to see that so many famous actresses are hitting 40 in recent years, and the press seems to be celebrating their age. Yeah... they hit 40 and the mags celebrate their age... but they only talk about the 40 year olds who mange to look mid-30's... their faces have been buffed, puffed, lifted, botoxed, implanted, air-brushed and filmed thru gauze... They have trainers on call 24/7 so they can continue to wear a size 0 into midlife... and they have chefs who "cook" them food for the day that would only get me to lunch... Talk about the Undead.
And what progress on the SAG contract? Did I miss the news? Not that I'm not usually the very last one to hear H'wood news... but progress??

Anastasia posted the two pics she took on the TR set that day on MLF. Here is the link:Raven wrote:A college student was an extra on Three Rivers and she posted her experience on MLF. She had some very funny interaction with Alex that will warm your heart. Her screen name is anastasia cullen and she graciously told me to post her story here.
