I thought they were sterilized, or at least very clean, handkerchiefs--b/c he did have one in his pocket to wipe his hands with. And those bottles on the dresser looking like anti-bacterial hand sanitizing stuff. He must have had an early warning about swine flu, too!

After he returned to the older lady in the car something she dropped on the sidewalk, he put that sanitizing hand wash on his hands and rubbed them clean. The lotion could be the same, only bigger bottles for around the house.

Re: Alex on CM: "The Big Wheel" - SPOILER thread
Ok... so I have a question...
I get that he doesn't like looking at himself, and thus the cover over his bathroom mirror...
But what was the activity, right before pushy Alice showed up begging to be turned... I mean killed... and he uncovered the mirror and started making faces into it?
Is that an OCD thing? A child-like thing? I didn't understand what his motivation was with the faces if he didn't like to see himself....

I didn't get that either, grace. I just kind of assumed that since he didn't look at himself in the mirror often, when he did, he really checked himself out! I think he just didn't like looking at himself and really seeing who he was.

I assumed that he didn't like to see himself or was anxious about it, yet when he did, he tried to make light of it, kind of like a child singing while going through a dark place.

I agree he can't stand looking at himself in the mirror. Why? Perhaps he subconciously recognizes or believes he's a monster and that by looking in the mirror, he'll be able to see that. My thoughts when he actually did look at himself and made those faces was that he was trying to see if his "outside veneer" was hiding the monster within. Sort of checking to see if he could continue the charade of "being human" and not the psychotic killer he knows himself to be. I keep drawing comparisions to killers like Ted Bundy. To the outside world, Bundy looked normal, an average guy. He disguised himself well. And we know from interviews that he would constantly look into mirrors. His explanation was that he was making sure the monster was not visible to the general public.

Those were my thoughts as well...that he was checking to make sure that what he feels about himself on the inside wasn't showing through on the outside since last he looked. He looked seriously at first, and is unsettled at what he sees, so the funny faces were a coping mechanism.
Didn't know that about Bundy Suz. Interesting. *shudders*

Oh that Bundy was quite the swell guy, wasn't he?
Thanks for your thoughts on that scene... it really had me perplexed. He seemed to utterly lack a sense of humor, except for a wee peek when around the boy... so the cute little faces and noises... seemed so out of place with the rest of somber, serious Vincent...

I thought the covered mirrored was so he didn't accidentally show himself in the videos he made.

That too. But except for Alice, he killed in the victims' homes and offices, not in his own home.r1015bill wrote:I thought the covered mirrored was so he didn't accidentally show himself in the videos he made.

I agree that there is much truth to this..but I didn't read too awful much into that scene..I just thought he was checking to make sure that his teeth and face were clean..just like everyone else who uses a mirror. I didn't see funny faces. I don't think Vincent had much of a sense of humor. Even when Stanley made a joke about "running over the cat" it went over Vincent's head...VAsusieQ18 wrote:I agree he can't stand looking at himself in the mirror. Why? I think he kept the mirror covered (and therefore, clean ) and only used it for "practicality" ...

Re: Alex on CM: "The Big Wheel" - SPOILER thread
Being a fan of Alex, I understood why I cried for the killer at the end of the show, but a friend I used to work with called last night, she had today off and we went to breakfast this morning. She started talking about CM, and that her whole office was saying they felt bad for the killer, when I mentioned that he was on Moonlight, her reply, what's Moonlight. Again how Alex, played Vincent , was amazing. I watched The Big Wheel last night again, I have no doubt that episode was written for Alex, to showcase his acting and his ability to draw in viewers that never knew him till Wednesday night. I worried that Alex taking a part as a serial killer could really hurt him with TV viewers, he did the total opposite. I know we were a little bummed that the number of viewers didn't jump, well most Moonlight fans always complained we were never counted or a lot of Moonlight fans could have already been watching CM, still I bet Alex is dancing a happy
dance right now, because that show if not in the top ten shows this week, looking good to be in the high top 20.

nayp... you are so right... He took a risk playing a serial killer just before he steps into the romantic lead with JLo... and he knocked it out of the ball park... he made folks care about Vincent...
D@man he is GOOD, isn't he????
