Nikki Finke has articles on all of the networks' upfronts. This is her CW take:

http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/t ... ead-at-cw/

No mention at all of "Body Politic".

OVERVIEW: Everyone laughs about The CW but its development is praised this season for being very targeted. The result is that 5 out of 6 of its pilots seemed to be real. But that's already winnowed down to 3 because of the lack of slots. (And, no, The CW or its designated hitter won't be programming Sundays next fall.)

MELROSE PLACE (CBS-Paramount) rebooted is a lock. The show is already hiring.

THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE (CBS-Paramount/Katalyst Films) looks very good to be picked up since The CW likes its relationship with Ashton Kutcher and this is a drama about models starring young and old babes like Mischa Barton and Elle McPherson. "It's sexy and very Dawn Ostroff," one source tells me.

VAMPIRE DIARIES (Warner Bros/Alloy Entertainment) is next in line with the most heat. It's a drama based on the series of books about vampire brothers and their girlfriend. "It screened very well the other day."

GOSSIP GIRL SPINOFF (Warner Bros/CBS-Paramount/Alloy Entertainment): As I reported at 2:45 PM today, put a fork in it. It's done. Next Monday's episode of Gossip Girl is a flashback that was supposed to be a tempting taste for next fall's spinoff following the wild teen years of now mom Lily van der Woodsen (played by Brittany Snow) in Los Angeles in the 1980s. But even though I heard Peter Roth loved its yesteryear vibe, the show went from hot, to lukewarm, to "fading but wouldn't count out", to now dead, according to my insiders. I'm really surprised.

So Warner Bros does vampires again? Perhaps they look back and realize what they had with Moonlight? It seems to me that they were on the cutting edge. *blue thinks they shouda kept ML and just been done with it* :dracula:

No mention of Body Politic. Not a good sign, me thinks. :( Since the CW will only have original programming for 5 nights (they gave up weekends), they don't have many slots to fill with new shows.

Between this show and Three Rivers, I've got ulcers and will likely have to detox from all the tums and malox by the end of May. :puke:

I keep thinking of poor Jason who has another pilot that may not be picked up. How disheartening for him! I hope he has a great time at the golf tourney, it will take his mind off of things.

This is disheartening. I hope it's just an oversight that Nikki didn't list all the pilots.

What about his Washingtonienne on HBO? Does anyone have the latest? HBO has different filming schedules so I thought he could fit in both since he isn't a lead. I really hope Jason will have some new series of his own soon.
About CW, hopeful news about Vampire Diaries.. :woohoo:

You and me both, sweetie. You and me both...

*MV will not give up hope, though. She will continue to drink to alleviate the effects of the tums and malox* :redwine2:

I feel so bad for Jason. They should have put him in Vampire Diaries--he makes an awesome vampire!

He needs to know that if BP doesn't work out, he will not lose us as fans. He is an awesome guy and deserves our constant vigil on his career! :hearts:

:rose: I haven't given up hope, yet. The final word won't come down from CW until Thursday..so I'm hanging tight until then. And..if the news isn't what we hoped for..there is still hope for a mid-season replacement and/or The Washingtonienne on HBO. Jason was wise to do both shows in order to hedge his bets.

He won't be out of work long..not our JD!

Well, he did say he was busy with "work stuff" right before the BMW Pro-Am. That sounds promising, even if it's not one of those two. :fingerscrossed:

I will never give up hope for our Jason! He will have a role that's brilliant. Somewhere, somehow....no matter what....

I feel like I should break out into song or something :blushing:

Jason is so talented. I wish he was the star in his own series. Failing that, a co-star. :snicker:

I'm not going to have any nails at all at this point.

And yes, he would make a smashing vampire in CW's new show. :dracula:

I have to think that an actor of his talent will find the perfect role (Okay, the next perfect role.)

I just hope for sooner rather than later.
