Alex Eyes "Back-up Plan" - Part 2
Re: Alex Eyes "Back-up Plan" - Part 2
That's another reason I wouldn't want to be an actress. You sure can't age gracefully. The public hangs onto what their memory of you is ;we don't see the actress for a while; and it shocks us to see them and what seems like a sudden change!

Wherever exterior shots are being filmed, I hope some intrepid MLA ladies get to see it and perhaps post some info/pix.

Most of the film is set in LA. I think there are some scenes that are from NY.Jade wrote:

Alex and all the articles say it is filmed in LA. Remember, it's supposed to occur in NY but it doesn't have to actually be shot in NY---this is Hollywood. If TR gets picked up it will mostly be shot in Hollywood, not Pittsburgh.

Actually, the script specifically mentions the Farmer's Market in LA as being where Stan works. So I believe the majority of the movie is based in LA.willing freshie wrote:Jade wrote:really? on the sides i have everything take place in NY, but i have only 4 of them.SirenSong wrote:Most of the film is set in LA. You are right! Farmer's Market is big out here. Do you all remember a few years back the horrible news when the old man plowed into the Farmer's Market in LA with his car, killing many innocent people? That's the one.SirenSong wrote: Actually, the script specifically mentions the Farmer's Market in LA as being where Stan works. So I believe the majority of the movie is based in LA.

No, that accident was in Santa Monica. I was on vacation there that very week. It made big news there.willing freshie wrote:You are right! Farmer's Market is big out here. Wasn't there a huge farmers' market in LA @ Pershing Square? Here's Midnight Louie's guess. You can pro'ly see Mick's FOS in the background.

I stand corrected, Over!

It will be in one of the original Farmer's Markets on west 3rd street and Fairfax in LA.

There are farmer's markets all over the greater LA area, but "The Los Angeles Farmer's Market" is indeed at Third and Fairfax. It's actually right next to The Grove, a trendy shopping center that looks like a faux European village. I vastly prefer the Farmer's Market, myself--it's funky (in a good way) and fun. I hope they film there a lot!
The Farmer's Market area also has a very tenuous Moonlight tie-in. That's the area where there was a huuuuge methane explosion way back in the 80's. The methane built up in the basement of a store (Ross Dress for Less) and went kablooie early one morning, causing a huge amount of damage to the structure, but amazingly, no loss of life. The methane is a by-product of the same underground oil pools that created the Tar Pits. The explosion led to new ordinances for installing methane detection systems in building basements. Here's an abstract of a technical paper that was presented, describing the explosions and proposing solutions. http://www.stanford.edu/~meehan/la/fairfax.htm
