Lets dwell on the positive. No one is saying Three Rivers is out of contention. No one is saying that CBS has passed on Three Rivers. Lots of outlets are reporting Three Rivers is either a safe bet or at the very least in the running. No bad news so far. So I'm chosing to stay positive...at least until the xanax wears off!

Susan--that has been my mantra all along.
First of all, I am just thrilled that Alex has a pilot up for consideration. It certainly could have been a lot bleaker. I really do feel that 3Rivers is going to be picked up. I haven't had a moment's doubt about that.

Though when I lay off the vodka, it may make a difference......

It mentions The Eastmans as just"in the running" now.

Really, the only medical drama that has always been mentioned as having a good chance EVERY TIME as been TR. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

OT from the upfronts speculation, but I came across this and thought it interesting. This is the closed hospital where the TR pilot was shot.

Suspicious Fire Damages Former BrownsviHospitallle
Updated: 7:55 am EDT April 24, 2009

BROWNSVILLE, Pa. -- A fire Friday morning at the former Brownsville Hospital is being called suspicious.

The blaze began at about 1:40 a.m. in a laundry room, authorities said.

Brownsville assistant fire Chief Jordan Sealy said the fire is suspicious, because it started even though all the utilities had been disconnected.

Five fire companies were called in from Fayette and Washington counties.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire marshal.

Ruh roh. Hopefully the damage wasn't too severe, but with 5 fire depts called, that sounds big.

Hmmmm....perhaps not everything was shut off properly after production wrapped. :gasp:

Pilots coming in for a landing
Several incoming and returning series look likely for pickups

By Nellie Andreeva

May 13, 2009, 11:07 PM ET

It's down to the wire for the pilots vying for a slot on the broadcast networks' schedule for next season.

At CBS, always the hardest to read because of its imposed cone of silence, comedies "Accidentally on Purpose" and "Waiting to Die" supposedly are still going strong, with the status of another comedy, "Happiness Isn't Everything," constantly changing but now looking at a possible midseason berth. The "NCIS" spinoff is as a sure thing as they come, with "The Good Wife" looking good and "Three Rivers" in the running with star Alex O'Loughlin.

Only medical drama mentioned here.

That is really funny! Is that why they call CBS the Cone of Silence? How on earth did you ever find that Sister M????? :snicker:

Well, it's Thursday, May 14. And as we wait for definite news about TR, I think it's fun to speculate about the future of current CBS shows. The thinking is that four shows are on the bubble--Eleventh Hour, The Unit, Without a Trace and Cold Case. However, we might have to add one more to the mix--Numbers. Why? Well, yesterday CBS Television Studios signed its showrunner, Ken Sanzel, to a 2 year 7 figure deal that would call for him to be rerouted to another CBS Television Studios production if Numbers is not picked up. Makes you go "ummmmm."

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111800 ... ery=sanzel

The possibility that stalwart Numbers might not return is further bolstered by another article in The Hollywood Reporter which discusses the networks' focus on the bottom line this season.

"TV crime show writers often employ a ticking clock to ramp up suspense in an episode, putting characters under added stress to solve a mystery by an impossible deadline. But now those writers are the ones watching the minutes tick by, along with the rest of their show's cast and crews, as negotiations go down to the wire on whether networks will renew several veteran series.

Dramas including "Cold Case," "Without a Trace," "Numbers," "Law & Order" and "The Unit" remain up in the air."

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... 39a296ccd3

What does all this speculation mean to me? That CBS is looking at adding at least 4 new dramas to its fall schedule. If the money cards don't fall in the direction the network wants, CBS just might jettison more of these old and tired shows than previously anticipated.

In the meantime, we sit and wait.

6 days and counting.
